Menorius: "Good! Then let us go! Make ready your weapons, we have a demon to slay!"

The two of you head off towards the caves. You make your way downwards until you reach a fork. There you come across the scene of a vicous battle. Strange looking rocks and branches litter the ground below. They are whats left of the golems. Menorius drops to his knees and sighs...

Menorius: "Agh! This cannot be... I will avenge you!"

He gets back up and takes the left path. You continue on until you reach the spot with the lava flow, except its frozen over.

Menorius: "No! How did the demon get past the lava barrier I put here? Oh no, he must have thrown the ice golems into the flow... Grrrr!!!"

You step over the hardened lava and make your way deeper into the cave. The temperature rises as you go farther in. Eventually, you come to a large open cavern a hundred meters wide and perfectly circular. At the center is a large pillar, on top of which the great jewel of fire resides. The demon stands at the base of the pillar, which is a good 10 meters high. The demon is attacking the base, trying to knock it over.

"You slayed innocent creatures for greed, now you shall pay with your life. This is justice." Saelel says, mostly to himself. He draws his blade and shield, and charges at the creature, slashing at him!

The demon turns around and swings its large claws at Menorius. He jumps backwards and stabs his spear intot he demon's hand. The demon screams in pain, then brings his other claw about and slashes Menorius in the side.

The demon jumps backwards and throws his arms int he air, roaring loudly. A sphere of dark energy forms between the demons hards, growing to about 1 meter in diameter. He sends it flying at Menorius! It strikes the the great hero and sends him off flying into the cave wall...

"Menorius!!" Saelel yells. When he hears no reply, he knows Menorius must be in a critical state.
"You wretched blight! I will take great pleasure in ending your fouled existence!

Menorius struggles to his feet and gathers all the strength he has left. He throws his spear at the demon and it impales the deadly creature in square in the back!

Menorius: "Saelel... take my spear... use it to slay the demon. I hid... a ship... forest."

Menorius falls over dead. The demon yells out in pain and is disabled!

Saelel knows that the man's words must be his last. He sheaths his sword on his back, leaps to the beast, wrenches Menorius's spear from the demon's flesh, and continues his motion into a tight spin, slashing at the beast in one movement.
