Oh.
My God.
Spoiler free. None.
I finally got around to seeing this movie, yeah? I couldn't see it on release day because I was out of town, and went on 7/7/07. So like, today at 3 I ordered my tickets for a 7:20 showing. Two tickets. One for myself, one for my girlfriend.
So at 5:30, I go pick my girlfriend up. She thought it would be a neat idea to run to the mall and buy a shirt. She bought a shirt that had the movie cover from the original 1984 movie on it. (Keep in mind, she's never seen any kind of Transformers whatsoever. Never watched a show, just seen the old toys I still have.)
So we get to the theatre at like... 6:30. There's a line of about 30 people already in front of us. We get in line and present our tickets. I'm thinking... "Wow, this has to be friggen amazing." Yeah? I heard a lot of people saying that old age Transformer fans wouldn't appreciate the new version of all the Autobots and Decepticons.
So we're in line, talking, and we start moving to go in. Get our seats, sit down, flip through previews. All the while I'm saying to myself "This is the coolest girlfriend in the world." and stuff.
So the movie starts. And that old "OldAge Transformer fans wouldn't like the new movie" thing?
It's not true for me.
I can honestly say this was the best movie I have indeed ever seen. It stays at the top of my list and will be hard pressed to be removed from that spot. This isn't one of those movies you see and forget. This is a "Buy the DVD and watch it on every rainy day until you've memorized the whole thing" movie.
I'm never ever going to look at another 18-wheeler, Camaro, Pontiac GT, Hummer, jet, Helicopter, police car, firetruck or Humvee the same. Ever.
I cried. That hasn't really ever happened before.
11/10.
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.
