If you've been having trouble uploading anything because of that limit, however, chances are that you are using a level of quality that is really unnecessary. It is my sincere recommendation that if your uploads are each above 1.2mb, you should look into lowering the quality. You can easily do that in Photoshop and a number of other programs... And by all means I would recommend jpegs and gifs for online images.
Also cameras tend to default to a disturbingly high quality level, so keep that in mind if you plan to upload photos. If when opening your photos, they come up as the size of a house, you should really do something about it or someone's right eye will come up full-screen when someone clicks the image. That's both disturbing to the one who opens it, as well as unappreciated by whoever is in the picture.

The maximum disk space allowed per member didn't change, so even if you can now upload bigger images, I wouldn't recommend that you make a habit of it.
