Discuss your ideas here. thumb.gif

We truly need to recruit, and it's hard to do it on other communities without more activity here. That means we'll need to do it in-game and among those we know. This is so much easier anyway, so don't leave the thread yet. bluetongue.gif

----------------------------------

- The easiest way to recruit is to simply tell those you know about SeeD. Those you know in reality, those you meet in-game, and those who are simply on your friend list... Old SeeDs, as well as those who you never told about your clan. Having others in SeeD who you know should make the guild more worthwhile for you, and you will also be contributing to our growth. It's so easy to do this, and it's probably common sense to everyone, but it still needs to be said...

- You can also recruit those you come across in-game. We used to try some creative things to get our name thrown around while playing, and it's very easy to do. One thing we used to do is sell items in the name of SeeD... Instead of saying that you're selling something, say that the clan "SeeD" is selling it. There's nothing to it, but I can almost guarantee that you'll spark a little interest, even if it's only acknowledgment that we exist. Our clan chat can also be pushed as a worldwide chat for those who want to have casual and mature discussions while playing. All you need to do then is push a spontaneous party or PK trip from that channel and we'll suddenly get some interest (and a bigger event bluetongue.gif). Lastly, it always helps to do things with other SeeDs. Seeing a clan doing something other than an event together would be rather appealing to many players.

- Recruiting events can be great, also. We've had trains and fire events a lot, but the thing that is always lacking is a good response to "who are you" questions... When that happens, it's almost like someone's asking to be recruited... Why turn them down? bluetongue.gif

- Lastly, just spread your clan's name. Signatures, MSN tags, etc... This is easy but really does help.

- And again, for the sake of all that is good on this rock... Use clan chat. It's not for recruiting, but I'll shamelessly push it everywhere I can. biglaugh.gif Remember that it's under Ziggywolf5's name, and it's open for anyone to join.

----------------------------------

There's so much we can do, and a lot that takes almost zero effort. Everyone will appreciate more activity, so isn't it about time that we actually boosted it? thumb.gif

I'm still pushing the Recruitment topics. Although I'm keeping them on the first page, and active, its always good for someone to post in them as well, commenting on how they enjoy SeeDetc to encourage possible members.

@Cspace: I'll send you some stuff about this issue specifically and maybe some things about SeeD in general. grnwink.gif

Speaking of which, wasn't there a topic with links to them in here somewhere? Where did that go?

Nope, I just unpinned it. One pinned thread won't get the attention you need... You'll get a lot more by posting a thread each time. thumb.gif

Ive got a few ideas that might float:

1. Like Cspace said, have events to recruit more people, maybe a drop party or something else like that, that may work.

2. Try to get current members to recruit by adding incentives like Tiers or special things in the forum, or maybe something in game for so many recruits.

3. Have a recruiting goal, try to recruit so many in a week or a month, maybe if people have a certain number to work for then current members will work harder.

Would people get angry at us if we were flooding a board with a bunch of identical threads? bluetongue.gif

And... I found the topic.

If someone posts a few recruiting threads around, it's probably worthy of a thread here so the willing can help. It wouldn't necessarily be one thread here per recruiting thread, but one thread here per recruiting attempt (potentially including multiple boards). I don't think there would be an excessive number of those threads, but if everyone proves me wrong, we can go back to what we had. bluetongue.gif

The thing with a pinned thread, especially when surrounded by reference threads, is that after a while it would be ignored. Not by everyone, but there's actually a tendency to look at the unpinned threads first since they are usually more current.
