Yeah, we clean it out every two weeks. It just get's that messy because so many people are signing up so regularly. It also stuffs up their join date.

So yeah, they're not actually old members that havent posted, they're just new ones (with stuffed up join dates) that havent posted.

Realistically there's no real reason to clean it out. The amount of space it takes to store the account details is not very large, and there have been plenty of cases of people coming back after years of inactivity. We want to make it as easy as possible for them to come back without having to sign up all over again, since that would probably drive them away. And since the forum members list isn't really being used as an active members list for any one game, it doesn't hurt anything to have old/inactive people in there.

Not trying to shoot you down for making a suggestion or anything, just stating the reason since the issue has come up before. TheSmile.gif

Though, some of us would prefer a military takeover and subsequent purging of the the capitalist dogs' records for the motherland! The People's Socialist Republic of Cactuar Island strikes again!

Nope, as of right now we don't purge accounts. Most factions of our guild have their own member lists with in-game names, and some of them may remove inactive members, but at the moment there's little harm in keeping everyone registered on the site.

Don't mind the other replies to this topic though (except Neraphym's, I think he's serious ShiftyEyes_anim.gif ), we used to get questions about inactive members a lot. bluetongue.gif
