All DS players should take note of the events in the Forsaken Desert. Those who become involved may be included in the next chapter of the story (which would carry onto Age of Arcana), as Ethan and Gero try to make their way through the desert. thumb.gif

This is going to go on for days, but anyone who wants to become involved can either side with Forlon, Aderon, or an anonymous group of mercenaries. You can also be a loner. Is your goal to recover Ethan's relic for your kingdom, to take it for your own profit, or to protect the two adventurers on their quest toward the east?

Remember that the desert is a contested region in the war between Aderon, Forlon, and Entarca. If you want to test your skills, everyone involved in the war should focus on claiming that region.

However, everybody can be involved. None of the "official" events right now will involve stats or equipment, so the battles can be entirely roleplayed unless you're trying to switch control over the region. I ask for the GMs' help with keeping things happening, just as long as you don't control Ethan and Gero.

Because the official stuff will be roleplayed, this will be a great opportunity for new players to start...

Why is this in the Announcement forum? Shouldn't it be in... you know... a DS forum?

The official stuff won't involve the battle system, for it will all be roleplayed. The GMs can do stuff that does involve abilities and all that, but the main events won't. Even if fighting happens, it will be roleplayed entirely.

Because of this, it will be easy for anyone to try out DS and see what roleplaying can be like. That's what DS is all about, after all... Not just the "card game" we play as a battle system.

So if you've never tried DS, or are holding out for DS2, don't worry because the events in the desert will be worthwhile for anyone. It will be one of those events that will be written into the story as it happens, and ultimately into the lore of AoA. Your character can be in it. thumb.gif
