Yeh, Nox and I went over it thoroughly for when it does happen.
Here's the plan:

First off, I raid my dads gun cabinet for all of his shotguns, rifles, pistols and ammo. I'd stockpile it in our livingroom, as well as be sure to fortify every last entrance to this area. If all else fails, there's a vault we can lock ourselves into. (Yes. My living room has a vault. It's cool.)

Now after a preliminary 'base' has been set up, I'd make phone calls to everyone I'd want to save. All of "They guys", and I'd make a trip down the street to get Val and her family. My brother and sister in law. Okay. We have the people, now we need supplies.

I'd take a team of myself, Nox, Bo (Brother), and our buddy Elric. We'd hop in my dad's Dually Truck and haul {expletive antidisestablishmentarianized by Cspace} to the nearest redneck depot and gather as much ammo and weapons as we could. (We'd also have a spare gun with us from the house, leaving some other weapons for those that stayed.)

We'd go to the convenience store right down the street and grab the essential foodstuffs. No gormet crap or stuff that needs to be cooked. Simple foods like sandwiches, cereals, and stuff that doesn't go bad. Water. Lots.

Once we return home, I trust that everyone is safe if I left them with Elric, JC, and my Dad. We wouldn't take the supplies inside, but if the coast was clear, we'd grab an RV (We own a park full of them. SOMEONE isn't using theirs.) and fill it up with everything we could. Not only is an RV large enought o hold the supplies and amount of people, it's VERY difficult to access, given that there's only one door, and that's a good three and a half feet off the ground. The windows aren't broken easily, and there's no simple way to get in.

Once in, we'd drive. We'd drive until we found the nearest safe place. Where that may be, is unknown. But we would be sure to check gas stations to find gasoline to fill the tank with.

We'd make phone calls on cell phones to every police station, every other city we knew to see if they had been hit, and if they hadn't we'd warn them. We'd call the highest form of government we could contact and say "Raise terror threat to above red. We're boned."
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.

I see a problem with your plan, Res. People will be panicking all over the moment they hear of the zombies. You'll have to force those people out of the way to get supplies. They'll also start to clog the roadways, and many of them will simply leave their vehicles in the road during this traffic jam.
Any idea how to fact in these humans?

There's a few reasons I didn't.
1: If and when this happens, I suspect emergency airwaves will instruct all people to stay indoors and lock themselves up, which will eliminate anyone outside.
2: If it is NOT instructed, when people find out, they will lock themselves up anyways. Thinking they have enough materials to last them in their home. This will also cut down a lot of activity outside.
3: Fear. If people know these things are roaming their world, they're not going to think twice before going out where they are. It's the way people think. That's why I imagine it being absolutely deserted.

HOWEVER. In the event I'm wrong:

Well, when it comes to roads: I have the bigger vehicle and weapons with me.

When it comes to stores, theft is always an option. It's whoever is fastest and can grab the most. Now, people with no experience or knowledge of this will go for things they don't need. Things that require preparing to eat. I'm going for dry foods and drinks that shouldn't require being kept cool. Nobody will think to take these. And I'm not going to let a second synapse fire about paying for this stuff.

Getting home: Remember. Roads are not the only option. I'm in a MASSIVE vehicle. I will not hesitate to plow over peoples mailboxes and lawn gnomes to get back to base. And the interstate is divided into east and west lanes with a median of about 200 feet between these lanes. Pure grass. You can bet your boots I'd be hauling through this. When it comes to the size of this vehicle, I have plenty of experience maneuvering it, and am confident I'd have no difficulty mowing over/navigating through other people who had the same idea.

Lets see, number one Im a complete pyro when I see blood and guts and a complete psycho like Zolon, so I would have to say I would have a 89% chance of survival mainly cause lets see 18 vials of Nitroglycerine in my basement... yes I have that guys.... from last years Science project well not the chemicals mixed together but I can make it. I also have my own personal Chainsaw so I can go Doom style on them lets see I also have 2 Hunting Rifles With 52 Casing Cartridges (I dont know if there all full or some or all are empty) lets see I have a old inactive box of Landmines from WW2 I inherited from my Great Grandfather (probably useless seeing as their ones that where probab;ly disarmed or whatever oh yeah and Id play Zombie pinball with my Hummer and its Roo Rack.

... Are you making up the 89%, or did you take the quiz?

... You don't want to go Doom style on zombies. The moment you reload or get surrounded in the open to "kick {expletive antidisestablishmentarianized by Cspace}", you die.

I'd like to throw you in a 28 Weeks Later scenario and see it.
Now, read the first post and look at the link that was posted. Go there and be honest with all the questions, THEN come back and tell us.

Nitroglycerin seems like it would only come in handy as a suicide resort. Because with the estimated blast radius, you'd be well likely to go with it.

Chainsaw, as fun as it sounds, would probably get you torn to pieces quicker than anything. Zombies aren't butter, and chainsaws certainly aren't hot knives. It'd take some serious working to get it through them, and the weight may wear you our easy from swinging it.

Landmines would only be useful in setting a parameter around your bunker. And they'd have to be far enough away where you wouldn't be hurt in the detonation. And considering they'd still have to work.

From the sound of it, your best bet is to leave everything but the rifles and Hummer and tear out of there as fast as you could. It's not a 'fight' scenario, it's a 'live' scenario.

I've been planning also...

And as a side note, I've read the Zombie Survivor's Handbook. Helpful reading, that book.

I have it, may (OK, I will, but not now) upload it.

But I'm pretty sure I'm safe from any zombie holocausts, seeing as New Zealand is this little island miles away from anywhere. Unless the outbreak starts here.. then I'm buggered sad.gif

Btw, just so you all know, I dreamt of "zombie apocalypse" last night. At one point, we tried to fly a plane, unsuccessfully (that was scary) and then somehow landed in the zombie headquarters. That was scary too, when we finally made it to our own headquarters, they'd changed the password. :/

Well, I thought about it, and if a zombie outbreak happens here, I'm screwed. We're a medium sized town wedged between two cities. The roads, which have trouble holding normal traffic (I shudder at the thought of traffic in a zombie panic), lead in three main directions: the one city, the larger city, and the ocean. :/
My best chance of survival is to get to the elementary gym and hide on the upper level. The lower level doesn't have any windows at eye level (I think, it's been a while), the doors are metal, and I think there are only one or two staircases.

If you go to an ocean. Find a boat and try to access any offshore oil rigs. Those are an absolute blessing during this.

That shouldn't have been funny. Maybe it was the fact I just woke up that made me rofl.

Organised zombies... they're the worst kind.

Unless they were fast organised zombies.
