He reached a distance of only about ten paces from them. He was sure they'd noticed him; they'd have to be blind not to.
"So... How do three... adventurers... manage to call down The Fallen's attention to them, enough so that he sends seven reknosks after them? One reknosk is a strange enough sight in this realm. I would truly question those who are pursued by seven."

"I told you not to follow," he said with a low voice.

"The object you have. What is it, that so many seek it? Why do both Forlon and Aderon come from their far off homes to obtain it? Why does The Fallen, and likely many other deities, wish to have it? Who are you, that the threads of fate seem to weave themselves so keenly about you?"

The other two adventurers stand up. One points his rifle toward the attacker, and the other reaches for a knife.
The one with the odd weapon seems to be the greatest threat, as the others show no sign of having any affinity with the greater forces of the universe.

The dark cloaked man stared, eyes sharp, at the man with the strange weapon for a moment. "I did not intend to harm anyone," he began. "But you leave me with no choice. You bring this upon yourself." His hand came up before him, fingers slightly bent light claws, in the direction of the one with the knife. With a sudden up-pulling movement, he said, "Fragmentia terra!"

He is struck by the upheaval spell, but moves around it as if he is parrying the columns of stone with his weapon. He rolls himself over the last bit of rock and lands on his feet, turning with his weapon extended so the hilt strikes his adversary hard behind the head.
"I don't wish to fight you, but you're not getting the stone."

The dark cloaked man stumbles forward, a bit disoriented by the blow. As his mind cleared, he brought to mind another spell. Waving his hands once more, he spoke the magic words. The ground erupted near the dark cloaked man, launching ash and lava into the air throughout the area.
OOC: Lava bomb ;P

Despite the chaos of the fire all around, the target of the spell remains calm. He knows that he is not immune, but he understands the nature of this spell and seems to avoid all effects except for the initial blast. Regardless, he grabs his weapon with both hands and strikes his adversary with the flat side of the blade. The sweep is hard enough that the cloaked man is temporarily knocked unconscious, but not permanently harmed. It seems that the one with the weapon is reluctant to use the blade against him.
By the time the cloaked man wakes up, the adventurers are gone.
OOC: Anyone can enter now. Perhaps this is a good time for a GM event.

Saelel crouches over the unconscious cloaked figure and looks at him, pondering.
Straightening up, he wanders off, following the tracks of the adventurers, and sweeping them up behind him.
