Also, remember that it takes a little bit of time to actually be given access to the network. When the applet comes up, it will appear to be doing nothing for up to a couple minutes. Sometimes I see members enter the chat according to the chat block, but they never actually get to the channels (and leave the block after the three minute interval). I can only assume that this is the reason, because it may look like the server is not responding. Just wait a little bit and grab an iced tea, because it'll work.

Being Idle In The Chat

I just want everyone to know that you can browse the forums while remaining idle in the chat, and still remain in the chat block. It doesn't use the same information as the forums when it comes to browsing around, so the board won't think you left the applet. You can open the chat in one tab and the forums in another, and others will still know that you're in the chat.
