'Gran Turismo 5 Prologue' on the Playstation 3 will be released in Japan tomorrow. We have definitely come a long way since 1998, when Gran Turismo 1 was released. Take a look at these two screenshots.

Needless to say, the graphics are absolutely stunning. Gran Turismo has always been used as the graphical benchmark for the Playstation and Gran Turismo 5 Prologue simply makes the Playstation 3 look like an absolutely awesome console. I can't wait to get my hands on this game.

Awesome graphics obviously, but I'm not a fan of racing games. I'd rather have something with gameplay I enjoyed.

I remember when I had Gran Turismo 1 XD I hated it

Found it so hard to control XD

But woah, no doubt my Dad will be getting it

I still play GT2 when camping

. Gran Turismo was the only racing game that I got into. Too bad I don't have a PS3

You'll love GT5 Prologue then. They've added a new mode called 'Standard' which simplifies the physics of the game so it is much easier to drive, and your dad will love 'Professional' which will make the game as realistic as possible.

Few things I have to mention about GT5 Prologue. They don't have a license to damage the cars (yes, you need a license to damage cars in a game) so they still have a 'friendly' crash system. Apart from that, there not much to critise on. Also bear in mind that this is a Prologue, kind of like Concept when it came out, so there won't be a terribly large amount of choice in cars and courses. On the upside, they've doubled the amount of players that can play to 16.

You can buy it from the PS Store now I think, although I'm not sure if they have English available.

i've never managed to play GT, but that screenshot is beautiful. my problem with alot of racing games, especialy need for speed, is the cars do NOT behave anything like they should. (rally cars that drive like a limo...)

Pretty long wait, I suspect. MMOs tend to lag behind other genres quite a bit graphically, particularly since their lifespan/development time is longer. Also MMOs are generally PC, and with PC games you don't want to exclude the majority of the market by making games so cutting-edge that only really new computers can handle them. Not if you can avoid it, anyway.

Still, we can dream. And wait.
