They call it "GM" in D20 modern. I DM'ed in D&D for a while, but that was after a good year or two of playing experience. Right now, I don't even wanna think of being a GM myself.

It's not that hard to grasp if you have someone helping you step by step. Over a forum, it's a bit more difficult.

I don't really see what the point of doing it in real life would be XD

Well...it goes a lot smoother in real life when you're sitting around a table. But you also lose a lot of role playing aspect because most people (including myself) type a lot better than they talk.

The mafioso campaign may be taking off soon. :3 Huzzah!

Not at all. Some people speak compulsively, such as myself. If the entire group is focusing on that one person while they read off a short description of their character, they may get bashful and say a lot of things like "whatever" or skip over lines. Online, you have as much time as you need. You can really get into the roleplaying attitude and describe things more thoroughly...plus, you have a log of what people have said so disputes are solved pretty well and easily and you can refer to what a person looks like if you've forgotten.

Oh, I'm not saying that doing it online isn't -better- bluetongue.gif I was simply stating my view that people generally speak better IRL.
