Lynn has heard me complain more and more about mine lately, because it is starting to make it hard for me to even want to log onto Guild wars anymore. Given I have beaten all the normal and elite areas of the game, I have been wanting to move on to some of the hardest areas in the game and do the quests and such that are featured there. They seem like a fun challenge.
The downside is that you can usually only play them with other humans. This fact alone isn't what bothers me about GW, but its the people you meet trying to do them. I love this guild and enjoy acting silly in it, but I'm appreciative of all the people here and how open minded they are to just having fun. But in PUGS, well, they are beginning to really irk me. I can understand the allure of cookie cutter builds and strategies, it gets you through the quest, and that's all well and good, but to people like me, that isn't the fun part about the game. The fun part is the thinking on the spot and playing with your build and testing YOUR abilities against the enemies. Yet in PUGS you won't even get picked up if you don't have experience in an area, and an exact build and the exact strategy down pat to do it. I just find it sad that a game specializing in creativity. is becoming a formulated process.
I know I joke about dragging people from the Guild with me, but I dont like the idea of forcing people to do things they don't want to in a game, so I find I am stuck with horrible PUGS that forget what playing a game is about and approach this like a job.
Anywho, I figured since we all go on about how much we love Guild Wars all the time, it was time to introduce those things that make us get annoyed with it as well. It's always important to take the bad with the good.

(And yes, I realize this is a similar argument to Cspace's
