I just thought I'd give some pointers to help members with organizing successful events...

- If only a few of us play a game where your event takes place, then try to organize it in a way to involve other players. Not only will your event be larger, but it could either recruit to help a faction, or boost future events in that game. That's how SeeD originally did a lot of recruiting when we were too small to have massive events on our own.

- If we don't have a faction in a certain game, then don't worry. If at least a few of us play a certain game (such as a RTS or FPS), just post the event in the Event Board. It's as easy to have an event in those games as simply posting a time and server.

- Spontaneous events are awesome as well. It's not required that an event is organized and scheduled for some later time. For example, if you want to gather a PKing team in Runescape right now, then post in the Event Board and wait a few minutes for some members to sign on. Then in-game, send a few messages to any of your friends who are playing. You'll probably be able to get something going unless it's at a really inconvenient time.

- Don't be afraid to post two (or even three) threads about an event. Post the main thread in the Event Board, and post notices in General Discussion and/or an applicable faction's forum. Make the additional threads link to the one in the Event Board, so the discussion is in one place instead of scattered everywhere. Hey, it's an event, it's worth more than just a single thread if you want everyone to see it. thumb.gif

- Don't be afraid to use the calendar for anything scheduled for a later time. The feature is there to help with events.

- Don't be discouraged if an event doesn't have a large turnout. If the event is fun and you try to gather interest from other players, then try more events in the same game. The turnout should increase. yes.gif

Good tips. I think spontaneous events are a great way to increase activity, at least temporarily TheSmile.gif .
