The news came as it was revealed that animal-human hybrid embryos will be created in British laboratories within weeks after the research was allowed by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority.

Two teams have been licensed to make cow-human hybrids for research into incurable diseases.

That is the most disturbing part of the article! eek7.gif

If you do not feel it should happen, you should post good reasons as to why. These things could lead to breakthroughs that save billions of lives. We shouldn't not do these things 'just because'. If you do have some good reasons, I'd be delighted to hear them!

Another interesting thought: I think the vaccine for smallpox came from cows.

We barely have enough resources to sustain the people we have on earth Now. With increased lifespans, the depletion of resources will increase and eventually we'll run out. Those billions of lives have to eat too y'know.

Clone CSpace and there will be no Mountain Dew for the rest of us and no server would be safe. Who would want to live a long life in That world? eek7.gif

I think before we try to increase life, we should help better the lives we currently have. See the cloned meat approved by FDA article. Things like that help.

Cowpeople just seems to go against my concept of ethics... Cloning organs and tissues is fine as far as I'm concerned. No cloning full humans for organs, though, that would just reduce humans into cattle for other humans.

Then wouldn't it make sense to start with step one instead of step 100? Just because it's successful in one scenario doesn't mean it will be successful in all scenarios.

As it is we've seen examples of cloned sheep, cats, dogs, rats, people, etc. etc. etc. Barely have we seen anything about food and resources in general.

I dunno.

Edit: I feel like watching "The Prestige" now.
