I'm messing around with an idea that should help our factions. To give new members a good idea about what we're all about, I'm going to make some faction homepages with all they need to know. It has been pretty confusing for newcomers lately, but hopefully this will make things easier.

Factions' subdomains will go to their homepages, which then link to here as well as to other nifty areas of the site. I just made one for DoA right now, but SeeD is definitely getting the next one.

DoA's homepage is at doa.cspacezone.com. yes.gif

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. thumb.gif

I very much like the banner ^_^. I would suggest making the boxes the text is on more opaque. They're not bad as far as reading goes, just think they'd look better just a bit less transparent (I'm assuming that's possible >_<).

Sure, that's probably a good idea. yes.gif

I just updated it, but you may need to Ctrl-Refresh it if the old boxes were cached.

Looking good, great idea Cspace. The banner is very shiny. bluetongue.gif

This is a really minor point, but I was wondering whether it was a good idea to have a few officer names on the homepage, for contact purposes. I know it links to our forums and you said to get them to post a topic (and that's certainly good), but a lot of people are reluctant to sign up for forums accounts for places they don't really know without a very good reason, and we want to make it as easy as possible for new people to join up. We can always convince people to join the forums once they've joined the guild in-game and gotten to know us a little, but it means that prospective members get a chance to talk to someone and find out whether our guild sounds right for them, without having to sign up for anything first. Our officers list is fairly static, so I don't think there would be too much of an issue in regards to updating the page because of it.

Maybe we could enable guest posting on the faction forums. That could help the "I don't want to sign up" part.

This would require more work from everyone, but I do have an idea.

Maybe a part where members post what they plan to do or titles they are working on. My reasoning is that if people see someone doing something they are after as well, they may want to join to party up.

Great idea, I just added the names of our officers to that page. yes.gif

Thanks for the idea, I just pinned a thread about it, and added a link to it. Suave_anim.gif

That would help, but unfortunately it's not really a good idea for us to have a guest forum anymore. Too many advertisers and other problems. cry.gif

Of course we have a cape, a hall, and sometimes voice... But we also have JGJTan. How many other guilds can make that claim?

I'm not sure whether that's a point in our favour or against, but I guess at least it means we're unique. bluetongue.gif

Well, first off we already have a billion and a half mods to begin with. Put them to work bluetongue.gif

And I don't know how hard this would be to impliment/how much server load it'd generate.
but why not use those security code picture things.

Edit: Maybe we could have a vent server for events? Just a suggestion. And this could apply for all of the factions.

Our own voice chat server for all factions would be nice. We could even use it for casual conversation. I think people would respond to it better than the chatroom we have right now.

The only problem I see is "How do we get a vent server?"

They cost money, and unless people start donating small amounts of money I don't see it happening.
Maybe we should market it to everyone like this "For the price of one fast food meal, you can pay for one month of hosting a teamspeak server!"

Edit: I looked around for a whole of 1 minute. Apparently the standard for 20 slot servers is $5-6 USD a month.

That's pretty reasonable. I think our ~30 active members could scrape that up each month.
