So it's not what you're thinking bluetongue.gif, but I thought you guys (at least the rangers bluetongue.gif) would appreciate this.

5250 aluminum rings, finished size 6 inches x 6 inches, modified from the "ranger tango" icon on the wiki

I like pawprints anyway, this is a particularly good version (as opposed to the stickers I see on cars that have 5 toes, or some of the charms that have the pad twice as big as it should be compared to the toes)

Armor takes dedication >_<. I can't speak for her, 'cause I only knew she made it, not what, but some people do put inlays in their armor.

Whoa, that's great! biglaugh.gif

At a rough estimate, how many hours do you think it took you?

I'd say probably about 50 hours total. Cutting the rings and laying them out according to the pattern took a fair amount of time.

A long time, but given the number of rings that doesn't really surprise me. icon_sweatdrop.gif

Very cool, though.

I don't know any folks that have bothered with it. All I've ever seen is edging. The problem is that we have to use rings that are historically accurate, which greatly limits usable materials (and makes it a lot bulkier and heavier).

It's a bit hard to tell 'cos of the way it's laid out, but it looks like a 4-in-1 pattern. Very prettyful and looks very well-made. Be proud of it, Zoo!

EDIT: Rat, it's maille. No chain in the name bluetongue.gif

Feed the plushie!
(Rayquaza plushie? WTF? It doesn't look anything like the other plushies!)

Through our bleeding we are one.

This is different from what I'm used to then. I'm guessing this is for a specific group?

There are a lot of posts about armor on these two sites, and I see a lot of different things, depending I guess on whether or not it's decorative, and the rules of the group the wearer belongs to.

This depends on who you ask bluetongue.gif, seems mail, maille, chainmail, and chainmaille are all considered correct, even if the latter two are also considered redundant.
