The creation of a newsletter for CurvedSpace is underway, and it needs your help to get off the ground! The key to a newsletter is, of course, the writers and what they contribute. This newsletter will be a forum newsletter, so the articles will be posted as topics in a newsletter forum, with the sub-forums of that forum being the sections of the newsletter.

Writers will have access to a password-protected staff forum in order to propose, develop, and finalize articles before they are officially "published" (posted) in the open. As soon as an article is ready, it's posted! (not always immediately, but there's no designated waiting period) This allows for a constant stream of articles, instead of interval releases. The issues of the newsletter will be divided by months. For example, every article that is posted during the month of March would be considered part of the "March Issue". Simple? Hopefully? 8)

There is more to how this works, but I see no point in boring you all with it. Right now we just need to have a group of writers ready to go so that we can create a newsletter for CurvedSpace. And we're not alone! I have been running a forum newsletter at Dotaportal.com for over a year now, and all appropriate articles published there will also be published here, and vice-versa.

The currently forum set-up I have in mind for the newsletter to begin with is this:

>>CurvedSpace Newsletter
  • CurvedSpace News
  • Reviews
  • Editorials
  • Staff Discussion

Each of those bullets will be a sub-forum of the CSN forum. I believe their titles are self-explanatory as to what kind of articles will be posted in them. bluetongue.gif But for sake of examples, in CS News we could have articles about site updates, in Reviews an article about the latest film, in Editorials some thoughts on global warming. Each section is quite flexible, so ideas should come easy.

If you are interested in writing for this newsletter, or would just like to discuss it/ask questions, this is the topic to do it. thumb.gif

We will need a head writer, who will put all the pieces of work together, and then post it on the forum too.

I can write too. thumb.gif

I'd be happy to be an editorial writer, if you're not already inundated with requests.

The articles actually won't be altogether, since they each will have their own topics. And I'll take care of getting them posted. grnwink.gif

Actually, Editorials work differently than the regular articles. You don't have to be an official writer to submit editorials, since that's generally how editorials work for any paper. I wouldn't say no if you still signed up to be a writer if wrote editorials on a consistent basis, though.

Well, that was actually what I meant. I couldn't see anything else that seemed to have a more accurate title, so that was what I went with.
