It's confirmed that The Hobbit will be made into two movies, planned to be released in 2010 and 2011. thumb.gif

Not sure. They may be filling in some gaps, which Tolkien Enterprises has been allowing in other things such as LotRO recently.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Peter Jackson is producing both of them. I'm not sure who is directing this time, but it may not be him.

Two... first one could potentially be boring, since all readers of the book will be wanting the dragon. As long as it has the same feel and look of the LotR movies, they should be good. And if Ian McKellen is not Gandalf, it will suck horribly.

According to IMDb, Guillermo del Toro is the current director. After seeing Pan's Labyrinth I have high hopes for him to replace Jackson.

Not quite as excited about the Hobbit compared with LOTR, but I'm sure I'll still go see the movies. Hopefully they'll be good. TheSmile.gif
