Happy Easter, all! Didj'all get anything? I received candy and the très cool Archaeological Study Bible. It's written in a non-biased manner, so it's an interesting read for anyone interested in history and archaeology. What a perfect complement to my planned career thumb.gif .

I got some candy, some small moolah, and a new pair of pajama pants.

<.< I'm still reserving myself for a very -special- pair, though.

Nothing here, I'll probably buy any chocolate that's half-priced tomorrow from work. Why are people celebrating it in flippin' March now anyway? Ejits.

Ouch, I don't see what the problem is, myself, though that's for later discussion in a religion topic. Should've retorted "If there is a god, why do we occasionally bite the inside of our mouths?".

I got to go to church and watch the priest talk in his homily about anti-abortion/stem cell research, along with numerous other stereotypical fundamentalist Catholic teachings, a few of which seemed awfully antisemitic. At one point he actually accused Judaism of being a "Culture of Death" for supporting gay rights and abortion and assisted suicide.

All of this happening whilst a five year old paraplegic latina girl (I'm guessing at the age, no older than seven) was standing by her arm braces across the aisle from me, listening more intently than one would expect for her age.

Oh the sad, sad irony. I about cried when she smiled at me.

For those of you who don't know, if the stem cell research bill hadn't been vetoed by King George, this little girl could quite likely have walked into church this morning.

C'mon, Maxi. You know the ones I'm talking about. The bright pink ones with the word "Princess" stamped in glitter on the butt. Or maybe the super short purple ones that say "Daddy's Girl." :3

"Sorry young lady, but because we can't murder unwanted babies, you'll never be able to walk."

Every time I hear about stem-cell research my mind is automatically going to go back to this adorable little girl.

There's some seriously wrong things in this world.

Happy Easter. I worked last night so I got to get my raid of candy at half off. biglaugh.gif

P.S. In regards to stem cell research, there might be alternatives then aborted fetuses and whatnot. I sadly don't want to get into the politics of religion and how they should not be intermixed with people's beliefs. When you start attacking another religion and saying its the "Culture of Death," you need to step back and rethink what your saying. Attacking a person is one thing, attacking a faith is an entirely different one.
