I received enough positive feedback regarding the new roleplay focus, that I've begun to turn DS2 into an entirely roleplayed game. It seems to be turning out well so far, and I think it will be ready somewhat soon.
The battle system will probably return in some form at a later date, but probably not as a direct part of the game. I'm actually making plans to code a networking battle program for DS, but obviously these sorts of things take time so don't anticipate it too much right now.
