If your site has a board that supports redirect forums (including InvisionFree), we may be able to have a link exchange. What would be involved is a link exchange category at the bottom of your forums, where you will place a redirect to CurvedSpace (and potentially other sites if you wish), and we will return the favor by doing the same for you.

Link exchanges are agreements between sites to mutually link to each other. They are a good way to get your site's name out there for others to find, and without having to pay for advertising.

The following would be the requirements for a link exchange with us:

  • You must use a redirect forum to do it. You can place it anywhere on your board index, but I would recommend a category devoted to these at the absolute bottom of your forums. That's what we would do, so we do not expect better placement on your site.
  • Your site cannot do anything illegal, and it also cannot distribute viruses or other forms of malware.

Lastly, we can turn down a request for a link exchange for any reason. This mostly applies to sites that are very similar to ours, and sites that do not yet seem to have things together. Guild sites are allowed if they are well established, even if they're small. The exchange would last as long as both sites are willing, and I would recommend that you turn on email notifications of PM's here so you can be notified if there's a change.

If you're interested, then please send me a PM. thumb.gif

phpBB doesn't support it, but could we just make a forum called "supported link/sites" Then it would be full of sub-forums which would each be a clan or site that we are corporative with. The post within the sub-forum would have a small description of the site and its URL.

would that work?

I didn't realize that phpBB couldn't do it, so it would probably be good to have an alternative. It may be awkward to simulate a redirect forum on a board that doesn't support them.

In PHPBB

* Make a forum that people can see, but password/lock it.
* Add the link to the forum description.

That's the only way.

Ya phpBB is sort of nice but its screwed. Anyways, the true founder lenny is from the UK so he used a phpBB UK host. And since he gave me the leadership I've been kind of stuck there. Theres always no way to transfer to either invisionfree or invisonboard.

Which brings me to another question, in invisionfree under the "title/ranks" theres an upload image spot, who do you upload custom PIPS or team icons with IPB?

Thanks

InvisionFree provides extra features as work-arounds since they can't provide access to the files (as far as I know). With IPB, you'd be uploading directly to a server instead of going through the ACP.

There are converters to convert to IPB from phpBB, SMF, IF, etc (and vice versa).
