QUOTE (Dragonman @ Apr 22 2008, 06:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
In order to help the earth it requires a lot of people to make an impact, which is why it is advertised so much and many ways of life are being changed in order to be less harmful towards the environment. How are you being forced to do anything differently than you normally do by environmentalists, anyway?

Who said the Earth needs helping? There is no evidence that proves the humans are harming the Earth... So, is the Earth harming itself then? If so, are smart enough to recognize that this is unnatural and not just the way the universe works?

Also, I'm not being forced, yet. I'm just concerned that if we continue down this trend of saving the Earth, somewhere down the line the governments may start forcing people to live eco-friendly lives.

Many states have outlawed trans-fat from being served.

Also, humans do effect the environment.

The question is whether or not that effect is harmful.

So you know Delta, I took deep offense to your immature "owned" comment. Flaming isn't necessary.

The global drop in temperature is due to global warming. This is why the umbrella term for the phenomenon is Climate Change. These are widely known facts.

Apparently some people have very vehement views about global warming, if they really got upset over this XD

But that's not a bad thing or anything. People can be very vehement over many things! For example, my vehemency when it comes to... say... cats... Hmm. Yes. Cats. When it comes to cats, my vehemency can be quite astounding.

*cough*DragonmanistheguythatrunstracknotDarkness*cough*

Anyways. I'm one of the believers saying Global warming is real, but nothing new. Our planet has a cycle every few decades where the temperature shifts according to... something. Human impact on the planet isn't -CAUSING- global warming, but there's certainly nothing it's doing to help it.

Debatable or not, yes. The temperature is shifting, however you cannot blame it on humans alone. A vast majority of it has actually been seen as a trend the planet follows. It's just the RL equivalent of Shinra draining the planets life force. *cough* anyways...

This is nothing new. Now there is just a way to try and justify it to make people feel better. Though the new 'green' technology will certainly help out environment, it won't do much to prevent the temperature from changing.

Side note, there's no reason to state that someone has been 'owned' during a debate, as there's no such thing. Even to prove a clearer side does not mean the opposition has been 'owned', but just shows that facts have been displayed and the argument has reached a conclusion.
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.

Oh, thats trolling... am I good at it? grnwink.gif

Anyway, I don't think man is causing the climate change. I think I can see how people might think that all the pollution and c02 we released into the atmosphere could "poke a hole in the o-zone".

But if you look at the facts, and get your information from others places and not just CNN and Al Gore, you would learn that their is no evidence to suggest that the climate change is caused by humans. Their are PLENTY OF VERY RESPECTABLE SCIENTIST who say that the "warming trend" that we had experienced(as it ended in the 90's), was just part of a natural warming then cooling trend.

So when Al Gore told us that the "debate is over", he lied.
Might I remind everyone that during the 70's, it was a new ice age that was gonna kill us all.
