To be honest I'm not shocked that such a thing would happen, I am however saddened that it did happen. I hope that the woman (daughter) and her children can get the help they need. There will be some serious adjusting required here.

Also, anyone know what happened to the other four children?

The other 4 children were looked after by the man's wife, who had no idea of what was happening. Fritzl told his wife that the daughter had run away to a religious cult.

The three children kept in captivity have damaged eyesight and hearing, the five year old prefers to crawl rather then walk and all have a damaged spine. Apparently they were amazed at seeing the moon and some cows.

That's horrid. What a twisted man. I have no words ugly enough for one who would willingly do that to someone, let alone their daughter.

And to think those children were born into that life and will probably never fully recover. Whatever punishment he gets may be justice to him, but nothing anyone can do will make it justice for the daughter and the children.

They likely won't recover. And that's the sad part. They couldn't get Genie to recover. In fact, she only gained the speaking skills of a toddler. These children may not be as bad off, but they're still in horrible shape. What makes it worse is that he did this to his daughter.

That was mainly due to the lack of funding, and worse even the lack of care after awhile. I hope people are more caring now a days. =\

Nothing has changed.
