Anyone Hear About The New Particle Collider?

Who has heard of the Large Hadron Collider being built in Switzerland? They're trying to re-create some of the exotic physics of the early universe, and may even produce small black holes. (Excellent...)
It's supposed to be ready for operation in a few months.

If they create black hole, we all goez....well....who knows?
We go ... there

Anyways, if we do kill ourselves we won't actually notice.
Sure we will; it's like waking up dead.

The black hole would either dissipate quickly if Hawking is right, or it would be small enough to just make an atom-sized hole through the planet... Which would be awesome.
... And the proton is destroyed!

We must flee the planet to preserve humanity from getting sucked into a small black hole.

We all know which planet you wanted to say.

The chance of a black hole being made are small as I remember it. But you can always quote the dangerous things that probability says could happen. it could also make something called a strange particle, which has a different quark spin configuration. Those have a lower ground state energy than normal matter, so it could cause a catylyst that lets other real matter near it to tunnel down into that potential well if close enough, and form MORE strange matter, which can have a run away effect and cause the whole Universe to be destroyed. I dont make it up. But the chances are so infinitesmillay small, better not to spend any of your worrying on it.
(Neat thing to note, that same matter, strange matter, is believed to be down in the core of neutron stars as well, POSSIBLY. And if it is, they think coloumb interactions keep it far enough away from other matter to avoid tunneling and causing that run away effect.)
