That's a little vague bluetongue.gif

Looking for the most simplistic answer. I know as a chemist you want to relate it to various energy levels, but vague means I can accept almost any answer that is related. bluetongue.gif

Well as a definition it is the smallest possible orbit of an electron, lowest energy level, for an electron around the nucleus in the Bohr model for an atom.
As you didn't define an atom no number grnwink.gif
But for the lone electron in H it is 0.53 angstroms.
I can't be bothered to convert to SI units because I'm a chemist. bluetongue.gif

Hrmm, way I use it as a Physicist in my classes is it's defined for the Ground State energy radius for Hydrogen, then we usually scale off that for other energy levels and elements, so I learned something new as well. ^_^

Your turn.

Heh... I remembered that I used to remember the actual number first but. . . I think. . . that's the number of atoms in a mole of an element.

Your question ^^

Its a vague definition but it will do bluetongue.gif

6x10^23 if I remember right.

Though I always wondered why it was implemented. I guess I can see how it simplifies things having a standard number of atoms per something, but I dont know enough chemistry to know about Moles, so never made much sense.

Well, I know there are lots of uses for it, but I don't remember any (other than you can figure out how many particles are in a given mass, which must also have its reasons, which I forget as well >_<). You can see how much I used my basic chem after I learned it.

Anyway. . .

What defines a rodent? I.e. what do rodents have that other mammal orders don't?

I've used it for that quite a few times, but I still am curious what a mole is. I guess I will have some more studying to do later. bluetongue.gif

And I would think the same as Zziggy, so since he got there first, I will say a hankering for cheese!

Yeah, their incisors grow their entire lives.

I'm going to assume you're being silly, because rodents really aren't that into cheese bluetongue.gif (just like parrots aren't that into crackers).

My middle name is silly. Rylkan Silly Tiwaz. Ignoring the various other adjectives my middle name encapsulates, obviously. grnwink.gif
