I want to know people’s views on it. Do we truly desire to have friends, or do we truly desire to be alone?

Do we desire to have no one around, except maybe someone to have sexual relations with? Or do we prefer to never have anyone around. What drives us? What makes us tick? What keeps us going, and what are we truly looking forward to?

The point of YouTube, and really the internet, is to expand our knowledge by gathering the views of others.

This is what I want. People to post their views on the subject (and any subject), either in video or comment form, and to share what they think and believe. Expanding what we all would like to believe is true, merging and morphing our own ideas and ideals until (and this is key) we learn. What do we learn? That is the question, isn’t it?

That was rather avant-garde.

Damn I can't wait until I can move out. Then I can make video responses. bluetongue.gif

As for now though. . .
Behold:

QUOTE

As people, we desire everything. Have you ever truly isolated yourself from everyone for an extended period of time? On most of us, a certain amount of time locked away will wrack the nerves of most of us. While we sometimes wish to be alone, there is always (somewhere) a driving desire for someone to be with us. Perhaps not for sexual relations, but just someone near to assure you that you don't have to face the world by yourself, even if that's what you sometimes think you want.

I know many people that say they don't need anybody. They lie, as every chance they get they ask for someone to spend time with. Maybe not "personal" time, but someone to hang out or relax with. If a person stood by a claim of "Not needing anybody", they would not request otherwise. It is human nature to want companionship, be it with a significant other or simply a friend.

QUOTE

That goal was around before the internet. Interwebz just made it easier. In essence, it's also a root of social interaction as a whole.

QUOTE

What do we learn? Nothing that can really be defined. it's impossible to not everything you learn in one day, or the things we forget. It's just part of life, as more information and objectives come into ours, we expand our minds to work with it and grow.
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.
Such a heavy burden now to be "The One".
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see.

Sorry, I don't have any particular desire to watch videos, especially when I'm unsure of the content (call me sensitive, but I do like to sleep at night).

However:

Indeed. I dare those who say that to spend some time -truly- alone (and by some I don't mean a day, try a month, a year, a couple decades; they wouldn't last even the first). It's not good. Everybody needs someone, including physical presence and contact (I mean that in the simplest way, high five, hug, cuddle, tackle, that sort).

I hope you didn't take that wrong >_<. I don't mean scary, but upsetting, and upsetting for me right now is pretty innocent to other people. That's all.

Is there something wrong Zoo?
I'd say what Kimo did in the video is perfectly harmless though(But Kimo is an odd one *insert a "what is normal" rant here). Normally that means absolutely nothing coming from me, but despite what some people think I do have this... strange ability to "put myself in other peoples shoes" bluetongue.gif

(I think that's called empathy, but I cba looking it up)

Only completely, but here's not the place.

I think what you're describing may be closer to empathy, sympathy is the alternative. Em- is an alternate of en-, one meaning being "to cause to be"; sym- is a variant of syn- which means together; -pathy means sensation or suffering. Essentially both mean to feel what someone/something else feels, though I've always felt the connotation for sympathy leans more toward understanding what someone feels, vs. empathy leans more toward one feeling what someone feels (which may or may not be correct).

Yay for nerdy offtopicness.
