Seemingly out of nowhere and in all directions, wights can be seen approaching the town. These undead beings are not particularly dangerous for the highly-trained knights of Aderon, but among them are a few of the demon-like entities known as "reknosks"... The Fallen's own vision of fear and destruction. They appear to be focused on the destruction of Maldenar, and nobody here seems to know why.

Some of the knights draw bows and loose arrows toward the reknosks. The whistle of their arrows is muted by the surrounding battle, where many of the knights and guards fell wights before they can enter Maldenar. Fear is sweeping over the brave warriors while the reknosks approach, as the arrows seem to be doing nothing to slow their advance.

Aether reaches the entrance from which he came in and reared back. He saw many undead creatures advance towards the fortress, and the guards opening fire on them with arrows. "Damnit," he growled. "Yeah, this is just what I needed." He took his sword from his back and ran out of the fortress to aid the guards.

[Cspace]

Three wights approach Aether. One holds a spear, and the other two hold swords.

They speak together, "Varu dar leronos tet azvol fohom."

Ziggy approaches the edge of Maldenar near his original entrance after quickly leaving the the command building of the knights. He watches the bizarre army encircling the area near him. He assumes their amassing elsewhere as well. "This day is getting better and better," he mutters. He notices Aether and approaches him and the wights with his rifle ready to fire if he needs to fight them.

[Neraphym]

Riach notices the commotion outside.

Riach: "Darn it, I sneak into this city only to have it lain siege to. These undead don't look particularly challenging, but those giant demons look unstoppable."

Riach makes her way onto the battle field and draws her many blade. Her six short swords swirl around her as she connects her doublesword. This will be good practice for her...

Neraphym returns to the streets to discover the city encircled by demons and undead. He doesn't seem too concerned about his safety, but he is confused as to why they are attacking. Staying within his cloak, he hovers up to the highest tower in the city. He raises his mighty sword, the Umbraxis, into the air. The wind picks up and his cloak flies off. Glowing black wings materialize on his back, then solidify. Neraphym thrusts out his wings, causing a few feathers to be shaken loose. He closes his eyes and stands completely still. His eyes shut, the sight of stars appears before him. He searches for meteoroids, and finds plenty. Using the power of the Storm, he sends the meteoroids on a course for Earthia...

Van Ascard approaches the city, escorted by a pair of Reknosks. His body is fused with the black glass, obsidian, and the shards that stick out all over are dripping with poison. An insatiable hunger fills his red eyes as the city comes into view.

Van: "This city will fall to your hordes, my master. I will see it done."

(Van is a servant of the fallen, btw.)

[Darkness]

OOC: o.o What the crap happened to Van? XD I don't remember him being all... golemy?

OOC: Didn't you read the story on his creation? He was bitten by some poisonous animal, then he fused with the obsidian and poison when he was turned into a golem.

Sword in hand, Aether stared at this creature. He didn't expect that the thing was actually going to talk to him- but he didn't know what they were saying anyway. Just in case, he readied himself. Would they attempt to fight him?

[x..]

Xmadole walks up, extremely interested. He raises his wand and book by a small ammount, waiting patiently.

[Cspace]

All at the same moment, the three wights point their weapons toward Aether. Six more are approaching behind them.

On the opposite side of town, screams can be heard as one reknosk tears through the old wall. It smashes a building and roars deafeningly. While slightly distracted by arrows, one other reknosk appears to be following closely behind. Four are now visible outside the south gate, and another is approaching from the east.

For the first time, the storm is producing lightning and extremely fast winds. There is no rain, and this means that dust is flying everywhere.

[Neraphym]

Many holes appear in the dark clouds above as meteors tear through the atmosphere and crash into the armies around this city. The winds make it too difficult to aim at anything, but Neraphym has managed to keep the meteors from hitting the city. Only the surrounding area is showered by a relentless storm of burning extraterrestrial rock. One of them is a carbonaceous chondrite that contains alien bacteria. It's unfortunate for scientists all around Earthia, as that rock explodes and destroys all evidence of the life it carried. Oh, well!

[Darkness]

OOC: Oh, yeah. I read that. I just didn't realize it was Van XD So Van is a little boy...?

[Neraphym]

OOC: A teenager.

Realising the creatures meant harm to him, Aether cut down the nearest one to him. His sword tingled with an electrical charge as the blade met the creature. The roaring wind came before he could prepare himself and he was almost blown off his feet. To protect his eyes, he slid the googles over them and turned back to the wights. He attacked another wight...

Ziggy decides that these beings are indeed aggressive. He figured they would be when he first saw them, but he didn't want to fight if it wasn't necessary. He fires into a mass of wights, trying to kill as a many as possible. Suddenly, he recognized the reknosks. He only had heard of them a few times, and what he had heard suggested he would not be able to do anything to those things. "Well, I have something that could annoy it greatly, if not injure or kill it," he assures himself while patting his mechanical horse. "Still it's always good to have a back-up plan."
He continues to fire at the wights as they approach, but he also begins looking for an area with less wights and no reknosks farther from Maldenar.
