I'm stuck...Really stuck, how can I make the file size less but still good quality?

If I were you I would reformat the file into .WMV or .MP4.
You can do this using Mediaconverter.org or with Super softwear download (bunch of other ways as well).
You will loose extremely little quality. Also insted of it being 1GB (its probably in .AVI or other), it will be more like 1-10MB.
