Howdy,

Hey everyone! Hyper(fried) here.I'm just sort of popping in to say a quick hello to a couple of old friends. No, this is not a revival topic - I am not coming back from the dead, ready to roam the SeeD/CurvedSpace (or whatever we're calling it now) boards, and feast on the brains of the innocent. (grnwink.gif) No, I'm just here to say a quick hello.

This place, admittedly, looks the same, and yet different. Similar look, similar forums, though admittedly quite a few different names. Even the famed Cspace seems to have finally fashioned himself a name that fits his customary greeting from years past. (Which I, admittedly, have used as a homage to the crazy Administrationator.)

It's been quite a while since I started out as a lowly member of the SeeD Runescape clan, which has now, it seems, blossomed into the full on gaming community that we had once envisioned. As it was, I was a lowly fifth grader at the time - yes, still in elementary school. I have matured a bit since then - I'm sixteen as of Monday, and have just finished my sophomore year of high school. (Luckily, I survived AP Physics, albeit by the skin of my teeth.) I've matured a lot since then, and, truth be told, a lot of that has to do with my membership at this old place.

I'm sure that the fact that it's been over five and a half years since I've joined has something to do with it, of course, but being in this community and meeting and interacting with the people here has really been a great experience for me. It's hard to explain how - between all the fun and insanity, I think I became a different person. In a good way, of course. I haven't been around here for... God, I don't even know how long. I know I haven't been active for a year or two, or something like that... though, ironically, I still lead the board in overall posts, with 11,000 and some spare change. (Though it seems that Bigrat and Darky are approaching me, along with some other guy I've never heard of. bluetongue.gif)

Today, I'm on the debate team, and are currently breaking into the national circuit of Student Congress debate. I was JV captain of the tennis team last year. I play piano and cello, the latter of which I performed in Carnegie Hall last month (yeah, it was amazing. thumb.gif ) Not to mention I'm a straight-A student who is about to ruin his life with four AP courses in my junior year. It's amazing how far you can go in a couple of years. I'm not much of a gamer, as it were, but I play Portal (greatest game ever), Audiosurf, and Half Life 2: Deathmatch from time to time.

Oh, and by the way, I'm now maintaining a blog. Please do check it out: It's called Defenestrate! Yes, I did name it after my favorite word, and the word that was probably the most commonly used word on the forums for a while. Shout out to old Cspizzle, I suppose. TheSmile.gif

So, yeah, I guess that's just an update on how I've been doing. I've missed this place every once in a while, admittedly. A lot of you guys are really great people, and I figured it would be nice to stop in for a minute. It's good to see this place again.

Viva la Vida,
Hyperfried (Jon)

P.S. Yeah, Viva la Vida is the title of Coldplay's new album. Go check it out. Fantastic stuff.

P.P.S. If Zolly's still around, he owes me a squishy.

P.P.P.S. That's how you cite it, right? Just keep adding 'P's, I think. Hehe. Oh well. Stay crazy.

Nice of you to check on us.

4 APs at once are never fun. But honestly, after you do that, what are you going to do senior year? Chillax I suppose.

In any case, nice to hear from you! Good luck with the rest of high school.

Hey hyper. Long time no... read.

Oh, sorry to burst your bubble, but I think that the LOTPW regulars, such as ratty and tanny, have passed you like... 9 times.

Hey Hyper, way to visit. Physics can definitely be a stinker, for my school it was basically a piece of cake, and then they slam us a final with questions that have nothing to do with what we learned. icon_sweatdrop.gif I guess it balanced the grades a bit.. I didn't think it would be realistic if I could walk out of there with an A+.

Hopefully you're knocking off most/all of the AP courses in junior year so that you can have a break senior year. Looking for colleges alone is enough stress. If you need any help with that I can help you out, because I went through practically every stop in the journey of picking a college... visited/toured 16, applied to 8 (most not of those 16), got a week extension on two. bluetongue.gif Hell, you can get a few visits out of the way this summer, save some time.

Anyways, it's good to hear from you, keep in touch. grnwink.gif

No, overload myself again until I die from exhaustion.

You'd think that, wouldn't you? But Ratty and Tanny have 10,316 and... 10,something posts, respectively. So I still reign... for the moment.

Haha... for us it was like huge workload and fighting for your grade the whole time, including the final. I still got an A, though. grnwink.gif

Haha, yeah, hopefully. We'll get to the stressful part next year. But thanks for the offer - I may just take you up on it. :sweatdrop:

Good to hear from you guys!

=O! HYPER! =D *brandishes duct tape*

Though I doubt many of the people who are now regulars here recall the oft used method of duct-taping old returning members to trees, I intend to keep that tradition alive Suave_anim.gif A sturdy oak should do it... Yes... I'm sure you'll... never get free.. *evil grin* No, now stop that! Don't you try to be escaping now! nonono2.gif You're staying here for a long... loonnggg... lllooooonnggggggggggg time! A LONGLONG TIME! 'Kay? Got it? Yes? Good.

... Anyway. Evil plots, duct tape, figs, and mice aside, it's good to see... well... err... not really. It's good to... hear... of your existence? XD I worried for a while there that, you know... that maybe... that -they- might've gotten you. It's been terrible, terrible... Barely clung onto my sanity... I've seen so much loss.. So much... death... Ravens blacked the sky, and -they- blacked the land. A swarm, a horde of those blood-thirsting beasts... Never... I'll never be able to forgot the things that I saw... *shiver*

But hey. -They- didn't get you, it seems ;D And thank goodness for that! But seriously. Sometimes I do wonder if all of those people who suddenly went inactive... if maybe, it was more than them becoming "too busy". Because that's too simply an answer! Surely, it must be because they met their swift and unexpected demise! And since it's clear that I obviously have nothing productive to actually say, I'll just keep rambling eek13.gif

Actually, no. I'm too lazy to ramble anymore ShiftyEyes_anim.gif It's good to see you (even if the internet setting makes that nonsensical!). Oh, and that other person who you have never heard of who, along with Ratty and I, seems to be swift closing in on your posting position is Alpha Weapon. He's just... changed.. his name... XD Yeah.

STAY HERE! cry.gif We missed the Hyper! =O

I seem to remember you. That odd fellow who followed me and Cspace around, rezzing Cspace when I defenestrated him from too high a window, no?
