Because it's exciting, Ziggy. xD Getting your role and the script, and then reading it, and getting excited about some of your lines. And then the rehearsals, basically just hanging out with everyone / doing your own thing backstage until you have to go on, and then trying on new inflections for your lines, and getting into character. And then the shows! They are so cool. It's (typically) all dark backstage and you're all in costume and stuff, and when you're on stage, you get -attention-! xD
Really, it's like playing. Hence... play...! xD Just kidding, I don't know why it came to be called a play.

Pretty much, Nazy summed up why it's so awesome.
Don't forget highlighting all your lines when you first get the script as soon as you get home.
And I only managed to get myself into these when I first auditioned for the school production like 2 years ago as a joke. Otherwise, I've never taken drama as a subject. We're thespians, oi.
Oh and HOLY CRAP. The Dark Knight is as good as everyone sums it up to be. Heath Ledger deserves the Best Actor award, no doubt about it. Omg. I was actually getting really into the movie. Elly kept on trying not to giggle at me.

I always use pink because it stands out the most.
But then I hate it sometimes when she decides to scrap a few lines when I've already highlighted them all.

Gah, keep losing track of time. Wish I didn't have school tomorrow. I fully slept in today because I stayed up late the night before... and woke up at 8.25am, only because the phone rang for dad who wasn't home. Otherwise, I'd have slept until like 10am or something. Got to school a tad late...
