So yesterday there was a tornado that swept through our university.. and I saw it outside my dorm window while it was crossing the road. This is something very rare here.. and when you think it won't happen to you, think again

I was actually walking from the library when the sirens screamed "Tornado Warning", but I thought that meant to look for tornados, not that there was one spotted in the vicinity. So I got back to my room right when it crossed the road in front of the complex...

I thought the winds were stronger than normal... But anyways, I got a close-up look since I am on one of the top floors of our dorm/apartment thing. It was a big, black, twirly twisty cloud. We opened the windows to the outside and heard the noise.. which really did sound like a train. Scary and cool..The sky was literally twisting and the clouds were a grey/green color. And although the sirens were telling us to head to the basement..everyone ran outside to watch - in the flying debris

(yes, us students aren't too smart, ironically)
Damage? Well, the local theater was destroyed from behind.. Our stadium was crunched on the west end, trees fell on cars, and shingles were taken off roofs.. Classes were cancelled because no one had power, and stop lights were out.
