Man it's kinda lame you can only buy pickaxes and not make them? I think the way to make one would use 2 bars of any metal into a pick axe head and use knife with lumber to make the handle....

I think we all agree. Yes. the thing is, the price of rune pickaxes would either
A. drop a little.
or,
B. Go through the roof.
I'm not shure wich. however, I suppose that jagex does not want that sort of imbalance where either everyone and his dog has a rune pick or where almost noone has one. that may be the reasoning behind picks not being smithable.

they would drop the prices. plus, smithing needs mining, so why would you smith something to mine? i think thats how rs thinks.

You need a pick axe to mine the ores, then make another axe??

I think it is fine the way it is...

Absolutely. Smithable picks... kind of stupid. Prices would go crazy, and for all we know, the economy could crash even more.

Yeah... Kinda no point, really. Whatever shaky semblance to an economy RuneScape has right now would be further destroyed by smithable pickaxes... Logically, it makes no sense either. Mining so you can mine? conf.gif

Keep in mind that JaGeX dosen't care about the economy. They just want to keep the people playing Runescape and getting 3D done. But the people, that's a diffirent thing...

No, the prices would totally drop, look at r2hs they went down very very much. Even if I could mine rune and smith it I probably wouldnt waste my time with picks unless it was the best I could make. Although, where are dragon picks for members? They should add that.

Dragon picks would equal VERY expensive, and plus, rune picks try 12 times, anymore and the runescape script would kinda crash, I mean, taking, say, 15 swings at a coal rock is a little bit effortless with just one click.

well i think: gets big list out deal.gif

rite: u use a rune pick u clik ONCE and with the twelve swings you have a chance to get twelve ores, thats faster mining biglaugh.gif, insteada the one clik more chances, cos the picks are all the same except more time wasting!!!

smithable picks could be ok but it would make things worse, since the fatigue update the prices have gone crazy, smithable picks would make mining ones worse and confuse people, kinda like wen we got pounds instead of shillings n stuff in england. not that i remember back then cos i'm only 13 hehehe
