I don't think they'll make a weapon with that rarity and strong item mine-able or smithable. With the new dragon items coming out I don't think it will. Plus they're working on 3D meaning they don't have much time to make Dragon stuff smithable or minable. They have so much work to finish.

I'm shure everyone has noticed the recent dive the economy(if you can call it that) of RuneScape has taken. The prices of items have made some drastic changes recently. for example: only a few days ago i bought a rune long for a mere 27k versus the standard shop price of 30k+ however, a rune battleaxe still runs at over 70k. at first glance this was not a bad thing, hey cheep weapon for me. however, in the next few days, i tryed to sell 100 coal certs. Most of us remember when you could sell 100 coal certs for 1.5k each and run out in like 20 minutes, and everyone who could was selling them. and they sold. Now, I spent 3 hours trying to peddle my certs for 1k each, then i dropped andsold 50 for 700gp each. that was sombering. i finaly traded 30 for 15 law runes. (and that took some doing) so i had 20 certs left. I could not sell those things, in fact, i couldn't GIVE THEM AWAY. no one wants to have certs anymore. While selling my certs I discovered on of the things that is pushing prices down so far, this phenominon i will name the semi-noob. while i was selling my certs, somone else was standing next to me trying to sell swordie certs for about 2k each. sudently a level 40ish player wearing all green (hair shirt and pants) walked over and started floodshouting (which i have no real idea how he did) that our local swordie seller was a scammer and that swordie certs are only worth 500gp. both i and the swordie seller argued with the man in green for about 30minutes, untill the swordie man got fed up and either changed servers or quit runescape altogeather. So, there I was, calling out my endless 'selling coal certs!" The man in green asks me what i'm selling them for, i tell him, 1k. imediately he bursts out with "lol! there not worth that! there only like worth 200gp!" ok i say, he's a moron. anyway, i continue trying to sell my certs. man in green takes up a cause against me, brodcasting that i'm a scammer. and that coal certs are worth 200gp or so. (what makes this realy iritating was the whole time he did this he also bragged to me how he could sell them for 2k each) finaly i quit fighting and changed servers. granted i never did get the certs sold, but i belive it is people like this who are driveing prices so far down. by spreading the idea that valuble things we used to make good money on, are worthless.
Finaly, i come to some form of a point, i would like to see what everyone thinks we can do to help the wecinomic status of RuneScape.

Ok first of all, the man in green is a noob. Coal certs are worth 500gp, BUT in large numbers can be sold for 1k ea. rune battle can be purchased for 50k. Oh yeah, the economy is messed. I think they should make players realize the stupidity of buying mask for like 500k, and just make them untradeble OR drop them all over again like mad
that way, they WONT be rare and those idiots wont buy for so high.

As annoying as people like that green man are, neither it nor holiday drops are the problem. It's the simple fact that more and more people are able to mine coal or fish swordies. Everyone knows what good money can be made off it, everyone does it, then there is a huge surplus of materials that no one wants. It gets sold off cheaply just to get rid of it, and over time that becomes the going price.

I am totally in agreement with hyperfried, even though I would love to simply find a p hat on the ground and get 4 mil it really wouldn't be fair to everyone else who works for their cash and only has say 200k or so.
