Well charlie, it uses more computing power to run vista, which shortens battery life.
Vista apparently doesn't like to be shut off improperly... and it's on a laptop. I have issues with it.

User Account Control has come under a lot of criticism, but personally I like it. It makes sure no process runs without your say-so. Guess it's up to individual preference.

I don't see why everyone seems to hate Vista. I've had for over a year now and my Mum has had it for at least 2 and a half. We've never had any problems with it ever.
Plus from what my friend tells me, Windows 7 has a similar design to Vista so their not really abandoning it..

Well, the security features are crap and annoying, don't work propperly and they stop you from actually being able to work. Pain in the {expletive antidisestablishmentarianized by Cspace} for people like me.
ctrl + shift + ent
Doesn't do anything, but I turned them off anyways.
That allows a program to run as admin.

Vista is iffy IMO. I work with it all day and have it on my laptop. It has cool features, but the driver/compatibility issues are highly annoying. It also crashes pretty easily. From what I've seen so far, Windows 7 looks like a good "version" of Vista, but we'll have to see. I'll most likely upgrade when it goes gold.

I've had Windows 7 running on my main machine and just recently installed it on my girlfriends laptop-
Windows 7 runs like a dream and so far I haven’t run into any major problems with it (a few small glitches here and there but I expect that from BETA software).
Compatibility wise I have managed to get all drivers and software running - if not straight away then with some tweaking of the compatibility layer.
Windows 7 seems to run faster than XP sp3 and is laid out in a way that is simple and makes it easy to learn where things have been relocated to.
I think Windows 7 is a great piece of software and I’m looking forward to the final release - I'll be getting it the day it comes out!

If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.
