I got tired of receiving spam to my account. But I want my visitors to contact me. I think maybe posting my email address is not that smart, but I don't know any programming.

Implement a spam filter on your email server.

You can always use http:///www.bravenet.com/ and setup a contact form. They use a validation system. TheSmile.gif

Use a host with a really nice spam filter, such as GMail. I haven't got a single spam message in 2 years, but there's ~200 odd unread emails in the spam folder. bluetongue.gif

That's if you ever come back to read this. =\

That reminds me, you can set up your domain to receive emails using Google Apps. The link is a tutorial I posted on a webhost forum.

When you mention it on a site, you can also jumble your email address in a way that most spiders wouldn't recognize it, but any human could.

Something like: "everything_before_@_symbol AT gmail"

Won't work all the time, but it may help some.

Also, a neat little trick that I found...

xmadole+sitename@googlemail.com

That way, you just look in the 'sent' field and can see which website it's come from.

Thanks guys for all your suggestions. I am using free hosting for my website and also have my email account there. This is why I was searching for a better solution for my contact us form. I searched with Google and now I am testing those 3rd party form services. I have to choose one between http://www.kontactr.com and http://www.123contactform.com. Do you have any suggestions?

My suggestion is Bravenet because they prevent your email from being shown. They also use captcha. TheSmile.gif
