Okay, I know a lot of us are like;

Oh yeah! I want to get a higher post count!

Well... I know Hyper and me are good members, we havea higher post count. But when I saw something like Spikeout trying to get 200 posts in one day, I saw that he was just boosting. What really ticked me off is Yeah Man's post:

QUOTE
*Points to darkstorm* POST count = power

or summat to that effect.

THIS HAS TO STOP!

I know that the whole post count thing was a great idea, but I went away for 2 days, and when I came back, Hyper, who was 25 posts behind me, was suddenly 300 posts ahead. I also noticed that some people came to me (Dunno why, guess I'm weasy to approach) saying that Darkstorm was a post count booster.

Now I know a lot of you are sayin "But they're meaningful posts!"
Yeah, that's a good thing. But we all know the saying "Too much of a good thing is a bad thing" and 200 "Meaningful" posts in one day is way too much.

Don't go around randomly posting in topics, only, wait, think a bit. DO you really need to have your say in this?

Also, those birthday topics must stop. We all know that so and so is having a birthday. PM them, or talk to them on MSN/AIM/RS/any other way, but keep it off the forums.

I'm going to start being a little more harsh. THis really has to stop. I mean, okay, 50 posts a day is alright, a little risky, but man, 200 is post count boosting.

So, cut it out guys.

You should still make birthday topics, but post once and don't keep replying to other's posts. Just say "Happy Birthday" and be done with it bluetongue.gif

Otherwise, I agree with X Zolon. Post count boosting it wrong

Good Baseballl.

Fine, we limit it to this then: Only post happy birthday to active people, like ones that you saw on RS in the last 3 days. BECAUSE: if someone goes on vacation, you can wish them happy birthday before, or after.

Birthday posts I think are great. (The event ones like partys) But the Happy Birthdays in SeeD in are a little much. They should compile monthly happy birthdays. Posting this thread? You must have need a post boost. JK.

I must admit I did this when I had maybe less than 50 posts or so but then I thought it doesn't really matter it just means you have been in SeeD longer or well just a little bit more talkative. I agree with you X Zolon biglaugh.gif but I still like doing smilies bluetongue.gif

Hey, I quit after Grimbold sent a pm to me.

I guess I agree with this but there is one thing that confuses me. When people say Darkstorm is a post count booster what are they talking about? You do realize that post counts have like nothing to do with anything(in other forums). If there was no Darkstorm then no post count booster, correct? But what does post count have anything to do other then Darkstorm? I realize that posts are becoming spammy but darkstorm is not a post count booster. its a spam booster. a post count booster is pointless, while a spam booster actually has a meaning to it, and something we would like to stop. BUT, Darkstorm is actually a fun thing. But since humans are made strangely, and evil, they want to get stronger. Then they result to spam. So when you call darkstorm a post count booster its not helping anything. when you call it a spam booster then its more reasonable.

I haven't done this before, but if needed I can remove posts from members' post counts if needed. I really don't want to do this, but if anyone excessively spams for the purpose of boosting their post count, I may take some posts away. Just keep that in mind, for spam belongs in specific places here, not GD. grnwink.gif

I think that when there is excessive spam or attempts at post count like this, you should make it a consequence grnwink.gif

This is really stupid. I have seen a lot of this in Anti-Darkness Training Camp, and that's why I created the "Three post rule". Warnings will be given out.

Here is a posting philosophy: Don't post everywhere, just post where you think you can make a good comment or opinion.

Anyway, I'm going to start warning for spam. I won't go mondo bust down on it, unless it starts going really bad. Just, remember, this is for your own good, guys.

Lol. bluetongue.gif

Like he said, post counts don't matter. If you ask me, they're more of a symbol how long you've been here... sort of.

Yeah, that's a good thing. But we all know the saying "Too much of a good thing is a bad thing" and 200 "Meaningful" posts in one day is way too much.
If you checked what Dragon said in the mod forum, he said we can go for goals. Killing and giving fates is not meaningless...
