QUOTE (RuneScape News & Updates)
Our favorite librarian Reldo sent a messenger to let us know that the Library of Varrock has expanded its public viewing area.

Reldo had the following to say:

King Roald of Varrock has gratefully agreed to be Patron to my efforts to create a full, true, and accurate history of this world in which we live. I have made a start by opening two new sections available to the public; the official histories page, and the tales from the tavern.

Please be advised if checking out any manuscripts or documents that they are to be returned on time, and late fees will be deducted at a rate of 2 gold per day.
I also ask visitors to keep the noise down in the research areas, or their library card may be revoked.

You can see for yourself the newly expanded Library of Varrock here.

Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

A lot of people have been wanting this to be added for quite a long time. Guess Zamorak finally got bored with causing 'accidents'

I liked the one about the antihero, that was good. Not too realistic, in that version skills were lost when you died, but interesting none the less. The other two player-submitted ones weren't as good, and the official history wasn't great (surely they could make something up rather than have all those 'nothing is known about this age' messages.

Actually, I wrote a short story, inspired by Obiwan and Bigbro in Nightblades.

*Ahem*

Once upon a time, in the world of Runescape, there were three passionate friends. The small spider, and all of his soft, silky weak body, the rat, with his ugly looks and pathetic fighting ability, and the hellhound, with a six pack and enough fighting ability to kill two hundred men.

The three friends lived in happiness for a while, enjoying each other’s company. Then, one day, there came a quarrel. “Who is the best at fighting?” they all asked? “Surely, the spiders are superior fighters to all other beings,” said the spider. “You little weasel! You know perfectly well that rats are the best fighters in the world of Runescape!” argued the rat. And with that, the two friends were incinerated by a blast of fire from the hellhound. “I’m sorry, did you say something?” he said to thin air. “Hm, I must have forgotten to take my gas medicine…” he said to himself. “Oh well. Those two were bugging me a bit anyway.”

Sorry for a double-post, but here's another one I just came out with: How the Chicken got to Level 3

How the Chicken got to Level 3

In a faraway land known as Edgeville, in the world of Runescape, a mad sorcerer accidentally added an extra ingredient to his potion, which would destroy all of mankind. There was a gigantic explosion, and the sorcerer was knocked to his feet. When all the smoke cleared, standing next to the ruined cauldron was… a chicken! Yes, what we now call a chicken was created right then and there. The sorcerer gaped and then exclaimed, “Oh my! It must be the devil! Aaaahhhh!” And with that he sprinted out of his office and was never seen again.

Meanwhile, the chicken was waiting. It was a frail creature, barely an inch tall or three long. It was bald, and quite sad. “I need a home,” it said. And then it went down and began to cry. It wept and wept until it had no more tears to spare, and then it said, glumly, “There is no one who wants me… I will go on the road, and become a traveler.” And with that, it set out on the road, under the dark, dreary sky.

After a month of long, hard traveling. The chicken arrived in Draynor Village, half-starved and very tired. “I will surely die if I do not eat something,” it said sadly. But with that, a rat came up to it, and said, “You no belong here. You DIE!” The rat launched itself at the chicken, barely missing it by a hair. “Oh dear,” the chicken thought. “I am just too weak to fight. I guess I will die here.” And with that, it stepped away. After two steps, it stumbled over the rat, crushing it. “Huh?” said the chicken, looking at the dead rat. “I can do this,” it said happily. “I can do this!”

The chicken made roast rat that night, and ate happily with a spider, which took small nibbles and talked of the world and the people of Runescape. Truly happy, for the first time in it’s life, the chicken grew to level one.

The next morning, full of scrumptious rat, and ready to go, the chicken set off again. As he walked down the road, he whistled a tune. “Hmm hmmm hmm…” he sang happily as he went down the road. There, he was bothered by a family of rats. “Filthy creature!” they all said. “You don’t even belong on this world with us! Let’s get him boys! We will feast on his flesh for supper.” And with that, ten rats ran at him from all sides. “Oh my!” the chicken thought. “I must do something or I will surely die.” Then, the chicken saw on his body, a feather, just a small feather, and it sparked his imagination. He plucked the feather, and then pointed it at each rat like a dagger. “Back! Stay back I tell you! I am armed.” They rats all thought this was hilarious, and fell over on their backs laughing. “Funny, is it?” the chicken thought. “I’ll show them.” And then the chicken took the feather, and poked a hole right through each rat’s heart. That day, the chicken grew to level two on pure innovation, creativity, and courage.

The chicken then kept going, and eventually settled down and fell asleep. In the morning, he was astonished to find himself coated with feathers! His limbs were also a bit more muscular. The chicken couldn’t believe his eyes. He wasn’t ugly anymore! Tears brimmed his big eyes, and he sat down and wept with joy. “Thank you,” he whispered. “Thank you for all of this.” And as soon as the last tear was shed, he went on.
About two hours later, the chicken ran into a farm. The farmer that owned the farm was named Frank. Frank had everything he needed in a farmer’s life: cows, meat, milk. Everything except for one thing: a companion. All throughout Frank’s life, he had never had a single friend. And now, at 50, he was really quite lonely. Well it just happened, on the day of Frank’s 50th birthday, that the chicken had come walking along the path into the farm. “Hello there traveler, are you lost?” said Frank with his sincerest voice. “No, not really. I’m kind of an orphan. I was abandoned by my creator, and now I have no one.” Said the chicken. “Well then, I happen to be an orphan meself. I’ve never had any friends, would you like to be mine?” The farmer needn’t say another word, because with his last, the chicken rose up and flung itself into Franks arms, cuddling up to his broad chest. “Thank you!” the chicken said. “Thank you!” That day, the chicken finally got to level three, and achieved its goal. It got a companion, a friend, and it had achieved happiness.

His is much better than mine but I will post mine anyway.
Long ago before the gods we know existed in our plane of reality, there existed another three, Zammer, Sara, and Gunther. Many say that these gods were the father, mother, and uncle of the gods we know of today, I am inclined to believe this is true due to Zammer being evil and always plotting to kill little mortals beneath him, while Sara trying to perserve the new and vulnerable human race, Gunther did not care, he was simply, neutral.
As time past and these Gods grew older, a great change happend, humans started to think of these Gods as rulers and not guiders or protectors. They sought to overthrow the Gods by using magic tought to them by a old crone named Zammorath. The Gods saw this plot and were angered, they took out the revenge on the humans of Gielinor and destroyed all the shrines and buildings and all that the made the humans great. There was a council of all of the beings of Gielinor and the Council decided that the humans shall be allowed to rebuild rather than banned to the wastelands of the West. It was rough time for the humans, winters harsh, summers burning, but they survived with the help of a fellow named Sardomine.
The humans eventually rebuilt and became the strong race we are today, and the "humans" Zammorath and Sardomine revealed themselves to be the Gods Saradomin and Zammorak, Zammorak wanted to land of Gielinor and the race of humans slaves to him and his minions, however Saradomin wanted to let the humans grow and become noble beings, Saradomin banished Zammorak to the wastelands of the West for 5000 years and the lands grew and became prosperous. As we know them today.

Sorry I couldn't find a place to but Guthix in there and well it isn't that good a of a story anyway so........... well that was it

Im glad Reldos putting the stories and histories as well as saying they might not be true. It allways annoys me when people make 3 pages of runescape history without taking any facts from the letters, game and website.
Im thinking of trying to find out some history for myself but to do it based roughly on fact would be hard. Finding out about the evil zaros would be good
(my current theory ((the only things i know for sure here is that zaros is evil and that zamoarak is afraid of him)) - zamoaraks friend ((both evil)) zamoarak was the weaker of the 2, zamoarak somehow betrayed zaros and zaros was banished from the land, zamoarak is afraid zaros will come back for him)
