Thank you so much for what you said, Dragon! (Even tho I'm still a minuscule noob compared to most of you! LMAO)

Goten, I agree!
I pixel...and I like it. But, unfortunately, my addiction to RuneScape has sucked my artisitic ability right out of me. I also used to enjoy things like online periodicals. No more. That is the horrid truth of what this game does to you, your friends, your family, your life. SeeD has only furthered the deterioration of my condition. But, alas, I still love you! :P

I think everything sums up to one thing 'SeeD ROCKS!!!!!!!!!'

Ive only been in this clan for a week and i love it already.
As a newbie i was not looked down by the other members and instead many members like Star Jedi, Baseball, Ryl and many others helped me in my
many questions.

SeeD rocks! biglaugh.gif

I agree with Lisa, I have been surfing on the web for clans sometimes too (early on in SeeD I dont do it anymore because this clan is so great). I think those high level pking clans and stuff are a load of crap sorry. Alot of the high level people dont just pick on low levels like 3-30 or however it goes, they pick on regular players. This word has pretty much gone out of hand, like when someone trades and the other person offers a bad trade then they decline and say "noob".
I think the word(s) noob, noobie, etc etc. have extended from the lower levels. I am not saying they havent stopped for the lower levels, its just they arent the only ones. I have been called a noob alot when I wasnt around SeeDs or my friends, and that progressed until I came to about level 45. Let me just get to the point and say the word noob is crazy.
----
PsyK, thats why most of us in this clan are in here for, to help our fellow members out TheSmile.gif Everyone from new members, regular members, and even senior members.(although I dont think senior members need that much help bluetongue.gif)
----
Viet, in my opinion, I think if you like to help people and it comes from the middle of your heart, you should do it. It shouldnt matter on if its going to help all people, but the people you want to help. And I think thats exactly why Zolon is making his garden.
----
Cspace and Rylkan and all other chains of command who make this clan great thank you and I have been loving it since I have been here since August of last year (had a different forums name).
----
Zolon, I wont join it right away due to some goals I have to obtain, but when I am higher leveled, I will definitly join your garden.
----
Thats my 2 cents on this topic and to everyone posting about it.

Yes, truly SeeD is the clan of clans (or something like that). Good to see you settling in well Psyk, and i'm glad you like the clan. The way I see it is that anyone that joins the clan will be a friend if they stay here, so if we discriminate against the newer members they either quit or harbour a grudge. Without new members this clan would fall, just as it would if we were all divided. Just a few thoughts of mine.

I thought you were talking about stopping some newbie scammers and reporting them. I don't really mind if you help some noobs learn how to play, I just thought you guys were just going to run around stopping stupid scammers. That would never help, because most scammers are too noobish to create a really good scam and practicly no one ever listens to them.

Hey, I'm not saying you shouldn't help people. If you guys read my post clearly, i said only about the players who do negative things. Like scammers, idiots who think they're tough, idiots who call noobs noob, idiots who say "this is my rock", idiots who insult people, idiots who try to insult people, idiots who think they're better then everyone else because they have a rune pick, idiots who think they can pk anyone they want, chicken pkers who pilejump and so on. Those players you can't change, so don't bother.

Sadly, I must agree with Viet. "You can't teach an old dog new tricks", to use an old saying. A vast majority of RuneScape's players are socially challenged idiots. They will never change. The reason they call everyone a "noob", try to pull crap like "this is my [training spot]" and the like is because that's who they are in real life. They aren't going to change because someone on a game tells them what they do and say is wrong. I'm all for helping the newbies and such, but going around telling everyone "shame on you" (or something to that effect) is simply not going to work. Don't waste your time. Help the newbies, train them in RuneScape and people skills, and hope for the best. You have a good goal X Z, but it's simply not going to work.

Also, elite clans have their place. The Druidz are a classic example of a truely elite clan. They are invitation only, 80+ combat, 1200+ Skill Total, and at least three (3) non-combat skills above 80. This is good for a couple of reasons:
1: No newbs or noobs can get in to the clan. Most level 80+s have ceased behaving immaturely. Not that newbs are bad, it's just that you don't want them in your clan when your clan is geared toward elite players.

2: It's a great way for high leveled players to associate with their own kind.

Conclusion: Elite clans have their place in RuneScape, and you simply cannot change a person's way of thinking just by talking to them in a video game. It's not going to work, no matter how hard you try.

Grimbold, It's hopless people like you who are the reason Runescape developed this way. If we had started all back when I did (A year and a half ago) we might have stopped it. Now, we can still stop it. You just need faith. Even just affecting all teh newbies will lead to an enlightened generation of runescapians. Look at the way we all developed, historically. The Monarchs were absolute, and controlled as they willed. Eventually, the peopel rose against them and changed it. Well, even Voltaire suggested the enlightened monarch. What do we see today? Equality, mostly. You see people who yell at racists. Pretend those same Monarchs are the old high levels of RS. And the Low levels, and everyone else, the people. Well, the few people like me, and Lisa, enlighten and unite the people, soo, the future high levels will shun and throw the current ones out of power, and lead to a great place on runescape.

You must BELIEVE in the ability to change.

as Ghandi once said "You must be the change you wish to see in the world"

Perhaps you misunderstood. I'm all for educating the newbies. I totally agree with raising a new generation of polite players. I was referring to those who already are jerks. You can't change those, you must get the newbies to become decent people, who then become the high levels that are polite and kind. Again, I agree with you on that issue, but you just can't change the others. Training newbies in the ways of decency and chivalry is the only way to effect a change. My apologies if I wasn't clear enough.

Ahh. Well, all we need is a few of the grand ones (No offence to the real guy bluetongue.gif) who are known throughout runescape, to change. Theat is how you affect the hogh levels. If they change, their followers may do so as well. And I have told some people higher level than me to shape up, anmd they have. (A Level 102)

In most situations, I would agree with X Zolon on this. Change will happen if wnough people put their mind to it. Indeed, I just finished writing an essay on "My Commitment to America's Future" (Be a model citizen and encourage others to do the same, since improvement is a change reaction).

However, RuneScape is a different case. It's hard to get RuneScapians to change. Even a SeeD whom I shall not name - a SeeD, mind you - questioned another SeeD for reporting a rulebreaker, saying that our job is not to be the RuneScape police (not exact words, though I know them). We may try to change people, but it's nigh-impossible. SeeD isn't very well-known, so threatening to have a clan of 500+ start killing rulebreakers in the wildy will come off as a bluff to most people. In addition, many rulebreakers are on "alts" and don't use the wild at all, and much of the time just transfer their stolen goods to their main! The only other thing we can do to prevent people from breaking the rules is to threaten them with JAGeX's Banstix™, but most rulebreakers know that JAGeX rarely takes action on F2P, and only occasionally on P2P. Even if they're banned, they can jsut make a new account.

It's a fine goal, to be sure, but I'd say that a lack of action on JAGeX's part makes our lack of lack of action a bit superfuous, really. Savvy?

Gah... midnight (5 PM in othe parts of the world...). Beddish. Nite all!
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.
