Some Tricks for FF7 and FF8

Final Fantasy 7- Tricks

1. Item Duplication Trick

First, get the W-Item materia. This must be acquired during
the raid on Midgar near the end of the game. Equip it on one
of your characters and go into battle. Have them select
W-Item. First select 1 item, then the item you wish to
duplicate. Hit cancel and an extra item will magically
reappear in your inventory. This trick only works for items
you can select using the item command, so that means you can't
duplicate Strength Ups...

2. Massive AP Training Spot

Go down in the North Cave to where there is a fork in the
road. Take the left path, then choose to take the upper
tunnel rather than the lower one. You will find yourself
in a strange looking area with roots(?) and water. Here you
can fight magic pots. Have one character use an elixer on
the pot, then after giving it an elixer, attack and kill it.
They give you 1000 AP each, and sometimes come in pairs! That
means 2000 AP in one battle! Another monster that will appear
is a mover. They are little orange bouncyballs that are really
easy to kill. They give 800 AP and come in 3's. That is
2400 AP in just one battle. This is by far the best way to
level up KOTR.

3. Maxing Out Stats

This is by far the hardest thing to do in the game. Go to the
sunken Gelnika plane and fight the unknowns. Use the morph
materia on them and they will morph into certain ability
raisers. (Yuffie is by far the best morpher, so use her.)
There are other monsters that will also drop stat raisers, but
I can't remember them. You could easily find them at gamefaqs.


Final Fantasy 8

1. How to get the best items in the game

This is quite simple, really. This can only be done in disk
4. Just acquire rare cards, then use card mod on them. The
card will not be lost forever, but it will reappear in the
inventories of a CC member on the Ragnarok. Just win it back
from the CC member and card mod it once more. Keep doing this
and you will get tons of really rare items. I strongly suggest
doing this on Giglamesh (10 Holy Wars) and Chubby Chocobo
(20 Luv-Luv-G's). Being invincible and able to summon Edin at
the speed of light can lead to an easy victory over Omega
Weapon.

2. Really Strong Characters

This must be done from start to finish, I'm afraid. During
the entire game, try to only use 3 characters. When you get
GF's that have the ability x4 and the Cactuar GF, you can put
STR BONUS, VIT BONUS, MAG BONUS, and SPR Bonus on another
character and raise that character to level 100. Once he/she
is at 100, switch to another and repeat. Their stats will be
really high, and by then Edin should be really high as well.
To finish the job, use Edin's Devour ability to max out
everyone. This could take years, however. That is the only
drawback.

3. Massive AP Training Spot

This one is obvious. Go to cactuar island. Every battle will
be with cactuars which give 20 AP each. The trouble with it is
that they are next to impossible to hit, and will run at first
chance. Use the HIT junction and put water to your ELM-ATK for
added damage.
