Hey all, hope you're enjoying this forum!

... It is not, however, the last you're going to see of DarkStorm. We have quite a bit planned (and have been planning it for a year and a half), and the following are a few previews of what we are very likely to implement:

- DarkStorm (pending official title): As you probably know, we have been working on a prototype RPG based on DarkStorm (what this forum is based on). It was a two-dimensional RPG which looks very much like the old SNES RPGs, and was a prototype for another game which our staff have been planning. This game is an innovative 3D MMORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game) which we plan to start work on shortly. It is based on no others and the plans we have for it will provide the players with an entirely new experience which is unlike most (if not all) other MMORPGs of any genre (I've been asked multiple times from those who know about this about whether it will be browser based and programmed in Java. It will not be like this, for it will be a standalone application; contact me on AIM for details if you're interested). While we have been constructing the details of how the game will work for over a year, we are not releasing this information yet. A launch date is probably sometime in 2006-2007 (I know it's a long time from now, but it takes a lot of time to construct something of this magnitude, even with a team). The launch date could even be later, or possibly earlier, though we cannot make a prediction at this time. If you remain a member of CurvedSpace however, you'll be seeing updates as our development progresses.

- Avatar and Character Graphics: Eventually we will begin to post images of the characters of DarkStorm on the site for everyone to see (or use in signatures or whatever). Avatars of these graphics will be provided on the forums for everyone to use.

- A Story Or Comic: To progress the story of DarkStorm on an entirely new dimension (no pun intended...), I am probably going to write an ongoing story divided into parts which will be posted on the site as each part is written. It will most likely follow Ethan's adventure and move alongside the forum RPG which is already here. This will probably begin when I have a break from homework (lol). screama.gif

As of now this is what we have planned for DarkStorm in the future. We have been discussing this for a long time and I am now posting this because we are ready to begin the process. Feel free to ask questions, though obviously much of the information is secret for design reasons.

Note: I do not wish to build this up now, for DStorm will be launched in a few years if nothing gets in the way.

This looks quite interesting, and I'm very interested! TheSmile.gif Of course, years away, I won't get my hopes up, but I like the current planning bluetongue.gif

Our development team doesn't wish to release the specific details of the project. In fact, only a couple actual staff members really know what we're doing with DStorm, and if you'd like I can ask Rylkan to post his feelings about our ideas as well. Don't ask him though, he's really busy with schoolwork and many other things (which have also been causing his inactivity on the forums, though he is still active behind-the-scenes).

That sounds great Cspace! TheSmile.gif I hope to be around when it is all released. I guess you'll be in college when the game is launched. biggrinbandit.gif Make sure you concentrate on college more than SeeD though. You've already done enough, so any delays won't matter much.

It will definitely be in college, lol, but shouldn't be causing too much trouble since I plan to study software engineering or a similar field. grnwink.gif
