If you use AOL Instant Messenger and see a profile that looks like "I can't believe I found *Your name*'s picture here"

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK! It will download a trojan to your computer and add the link to your profile. Again, this is AIM profiles... not the forums.

If you have it, you can go here for removal instructions.

From what I understand, if you have a virus scanner with auto-protect it should block it. Still... I'll edit the top post with removal instructions.

Is this another one of them jokes? Stop putting them in the Announcements forum, they go to the insanity board. Putting "HEHEHE" just makes it look like a joke.

If it is real, move it back, but the last 3 of these type of topics have just been jokes.

Norton Auto-Protect blocks it; it is not a hoax or a joke. Please move it back.

And it spreads if you click the link. It takes you to a site that downloads a Trojan to your computer. The trojan damages AOL and IE, and it will put the link back in your profile even if you remove it. The only way to get rid of it is to follow the removal instructions I posted above.

Yeah, Star, I think I might've remembered seeing that link in your profile in one of the many times in which I was spammed with IMs, so you probably have this trojan ... anyway, no, Ryl, this isn't a hoax, and it needs to be moved back to where people will take it seriously again.

Erm, I looked and I found it... I don't remember clicking anything like that, though. Strange. Sorry to whoever clicked it, I didn't know it was there.

i clicked it several times in your profile star. it did nothing (go check bluetongue.gif) i use Mozilla as my default browser, and it seems to have no effect on it. also, my firewall is very tight. i only allow certain things to access the internet, and they need permission from me. i just click no, and there is no problem.

Wow, this is one of the times where having AIM broken is actually an advantage... bluetongue.gif
