If you have not been involved in any conflicts, you probably think this is silly and are wondering why we are resorting to this, but many are unfazed by the punishments for starting conflicts and I'm afraid that they will have to be increased. We have banned two members so far, one of which is a Super Mod. These banishments can happen to anyone regardless of rank, and for this reason everyone should be mindful of what they say on the forums or in the chats (these banishments only relate to those features of our site and nothing else).

If you are caught starting a conflict and do not listen to an op:

- First Time (minor): Two weeks of banishment from the forums.

- First Time (major): Month of banishment from the forums.

- Second Time (anything): Month of banishment from the forums and chat; IP will be banned (cannot log on with any name).

- Third Time (anything): Three months of banishment from the forums and chat; IP will be banned (cannot log on with any name).

- Fourth Time (anything): Name will be banned from the forums forever; IP will not be banned.

- Fifth Time (anything): Name and IP will be banned from the forums forever.

If an op is caught starting or perpetuating a conflict:

Same as if not an op

How ops will handle situations:

- Will first warn the one(s) starting or perpetuating the conflict (two warnings)

- Will take a screenshot and recommend the member for banishment

No one will be banished without being warned twice

Incentives for preventing conflicts:

- If you are a SeeD, you will gain one SeeD Emblem for every conflict you successfully end (without flaming). This is official now, and will be placed on the site with the next update.

- More may be added.

*************************************************

Anyway, I'm sorry that the situation has come to this, but yet another old member has left because of these situations AND THEY MUST NOT CONTINUE. Conflicts are bound to happen, but keep them off the chat and don't get others involved who have nothing to do with them. As long as you keep them off the chat and they forums you have nothing to worry about, but if you do bring them to our site you will need to worry because you can be banned from the forums.

Hopefully these conflicts will soon come to an end...

Note: This will apply for anything started following this post, and no current banishments will be extended as a result. Those banned, however, have one strike already and will be banned for a month the next time they start a conflict.

Hear hear. I have a few questions though, who are these "ops". And what would happen, if someone created a new forum name, in plain violation of the temporary banishment?

Me Spells
Sorcerer:

- Summon Familiar (2000): EC=500; Effect = Summon a Familiar to travel/ Can do anything except attack or use abilities: Allows you to summon a familiar and send it to other areas. It cannot attack and will come back to you if attacked.

I didn't want to mention names and start a conflict, but yes, what would happen?

Hear hear. I have a few questions though, who are these "ops". And what would happen, if someone created a new forum name, in plain violation of the temporary banishment?

The ops are those who basically moderate the chats, and members can create a new forum name if their IP is not banned. If their IP is banned they cannot sign on to any name from their computer, though otherwise it would be intended for them to lose the ability to use their main name (no post counts or anything will be transferred so there's no incentive to post).

If you're wondering why I sometimes allow this, I wish to allow certain members to view the events and annoucements. I may make a modification to change this, but until then it's the only way this can work.

Well I agree completely with this policy. I do have a question regarding it: What if you say something that unintentionally results in a conflict? Will you still get banned?

Actually I have three questions: How can anyone prove that they dircetly stopped a conflict? And what old member left, and why did this happen?

I understand if you don't want to state the names of the members for reasons that they can't defend themselves, or that people could accuse each other for this.

I hope this works, and hopefully people will be scared of the punishments. Thank you Cspace.

A very good idea Cspace. This may have a few people think twice before they start anything. Unfortunately, it's true: when some people need to blow, they will.

Seems like a good policy to me. I really wish this wasn't necessary, but it seems it is...

My conflict chat enders usually end up in me taking over people who are higher rank.. and apparently people think it's stupid. But it ended the conflicts and got the job done, I don't care what they say. They don't know what they are talking about, and have no respect for me.

Looks like this gets even more serious every time I get back here. Everyone has to stop bringing their problems onto the forums and even chat. They should just talk it out with another on AIM, MSN, or something else so that a bunch of people are not involved. (I'm going to make a post about that actually.)

I hope I can get on enough to help watch over chat and the forums. As for the proof, usually arguements occur over what part of the conversation the screenshot doesn't contain. That why we need witnesses also. I recommend that everyone who witnesses a conflict should try to take screenshots themselves (aim for important things like flaming and such). If an op is caught flaming when trying to solve a conflict they won't get a SeeD Emblem.

I hope these new punishments will finally cease these conflicts.

nicely said, and i totally agree, even though i have no idea what im talking about, they must end
Heros die and legends fall,
Created now a memory wall,
Blood was spilled and skin was torn,
Their action have now been scorned,
What once was great we frown upon,
Different ideals a day does dawn,
Whispering silently into the wind,
Their burnt candles they do tend,
We blow them out and push them away,
But they are great they wish to stay,
Only thecurious reach for their hands,
To help pull them out of the sea onto dry land,
But now we lay them in their graves,
Their spirits pushed back into the caves,
A gust from the north blows to the south,
Hush curious ones, hush your mouths.

Silver, you are just digging your own grave, just back off, let things calm down, then maybe there can be a fresh start in a few weeks.
