hey peeps i have been following this topic since about it was started and i decided to come back i mentioned before that i believed in god but thats really all i said, now i believe myself more of a believer now, and so im stating my ideas now since i more firmly believe in them and im sry if this offends anyone altho i dont really think it should.
ok anyways im gonna start from the very begining of time the big bang vs. the creator of man kind. i truly believe that god created earth and everything on it, i remember someone asking early that if it says god created man the first day then how could there have been dinosaurs well this is my theory on how, i believe that time is relative so basically one day might not have actually been 24 hours it could have been milllions of mans years. because lets face it time doesnt exsit hours minutes seconds years days thats a system man made up so really it could have been millions of man years for this to happen, and to make it all understandable god scaled the time way down so that actually millions of years was one day.

then next everybodys question is y doesnt god help me and everybody else on earth who has problems, first off to me some of u and i STRESS the word some dont really show god any respect at all so y should he help u, i mean think of it this way say u were at school/work whatever and u hear this guy making fun of u and then one day he comes up to u and says hey u seem like a great guy, i have this problem could u help me out? i mean to me that sounds like he is just being used for personal benefits. i dunno if that sounds really complete or not but yea.

anyways i left a bunch of people; you guys say the god doesnt help u well i know that i think it was gen. that said that god would help u if u let him i believe in that. i also believe that if u come to on pure feelings wanting to believe in him, not because u have a problem i feel/think that he will test u on how faithfull u r willing to be. i believe this because i was having alot of problems alittle less than a year ago maybe less and everything wasnt that great anyways i finally decided that i wanted to get out of this crapy life and make something better of myself i believed god was the answer well i had actually tried this before but it seemed that every time i would go things would get worse. well finally this last year i came to him again asking him to take me into his life and help me and love me and be there for me. and like before things got bad but i never blamed god and i went to him and i talked to him asking him for help and guidance. and after alittle while things got alot better and ive been pretty darned happy since(well except for a coupole times but over all happy). so i think that god just doensnt want to help anybody i personally think he wants to but i dont think he will. i think he wants to make sure that u will be a devoted believer and will love him and not curse on him and use him. Over all all u have to do is ask him to forigve u and talk to him maybe if u really want to start believing him go to church on sundays. But im not saying that to really have be a believer that u have to go to church i barely ever go to church myself. I remember in the bible it said ur love of god is not based on ur knowledge of him but on what and how u show ur faithfullness to him.

ok now lets talk about the gods what and all that stuff. ive been reading and people have been saying how a god is someone that has done amazing things while liveing or something that u greatly admire and put tons of energy into. i believe the somethings r idols they arent gods they just sit there lets look at anything that is based on electircity. ok techknowledgy(hope thats how u spell it) canot be a good becaue it depends on something else to live on it needs electricity to work so how could a computers and advancemts be a good if it depends on something? thast just a thought thats all tho. now the other thing i said about god like someone thing i think that is in a way true lets look at jesus he admitted when he was being tried by pilate and caiaphas that he was christ the son of god, which i believe is true adn not true, i think jesus is a part of god like his right hand sent to earth to show people that god is real.

right now that is all that i can think of to answer at this time i hope what i wrote maybe made an influence on someones mind again this was not written to offend anyone i just wanted to state my beliefs about god and if some of this doesnt make sense im sry lol its 1:45 am right now so yea well i hope this helps and i wasnt rambling on.

o yea i hope someone reads this lol thats gonna suck if noone does.

What i am about to put here may have been mentioned in other peoples posts as i have just caught onto this topic.

IMO 'god' isn't real he is someone we believe in and turn to for help.
Even though i don't believe in him people in desperate measures will pray to the 'god' they said never existed - even i did once - but have given up on that and will never do it again, although i may in a life or death situation. People who believe in 'god' are usually people who have done what i put ^ and had an 'answer' to what ever they were asking for or people who have been brought up in religious families.
Nowaday's there are less and less people going to church as science has explained all of the things that 'god' has done. For example creation is now evolution.

On a final note 'god' is someone who people believed in as it answered the things easily. If people didn't understand it then 'god' created/did it.

For example (totally unreal) if you showed a roman a modern home then 'god' would probably be their explanation for say computers and radios.

No, i don't believe in god. Those who believe in him may only do so because it gives them safety and comfort. Some of the Christians aren't afraid of death because they know they come to heaven. It's kinda nice though, not beeing afraid of death. But the Christians say that Adam and Eva(so they are named in norwegian, dunno if it's the same in english) was the first humans on Earth. But scientists have already proven that we ascend(or something like that) from the monkeys. So i think every religion is made up just to give comfort for those who believe in that, and to give some basic rules for life(except Islam, i won't go into detail about that).

taylor if u want to think about it like that with the roman thing, u could only really believe in this if u believed in god technically god created the people that created the machines he gave the people the ideas and so forth. just becuase u dont go to earth doesnt mean that u cant believe in god.

danny if u dont believe in god then y did u say that christians know they go to heaven. do u believe in heaven but not god?

Ooooookay, generally I don't have to complain about this, but it's getting pretty bad in this topic.

Because this is a forum for intellectual debate, it makes sense to use proper spelling and grammar with what you say. It makes your views sound a lot less reasonable when you don't spell things correctly. I'm not saying you have to spell check everything you post, just to try not to allow typos and spelling errors to hinder the meaning of your post. Really, it's only hurting yourself when you're not spelling stuff correctly.

First off, I find this to be a very inappropriate topic for discussion, and second of all, there is a greater being that created the universe and all that is in it. Though scientists believe the universe started in a "big bang" that created everything, it is not possible for there to be a random explosion out of nothing without some help of a greater being. Also, referring back to the first page and the dinosaurs not being in the Bible, it would be irrelevent for them to be in the Bible as they have no influence on the belief in God. Next, if you are talking about adam and eve and the theory of evolution, just how many apes have you seen that look almost human, or in other words, how many "sasquatch"s have you seen? The theory of evolution seems to be false when looked at it from this perspective. Finally, I want to leave you with a question: What proof do you have that there ISN'T a greater being in the universe?

Remember, God is not there to solve all of your problems, He once said you have to help yourself before He will help you.

The Greek gods weren't real, roman gods weren't real and the christian god isn't real, and don't call me a devil worshipper, because satan isn't real either. There is no supreme being, if anyone was to be a 'god' it should be Darwin.

Sorry, but I have to say this: I haven't read all the posts, but I'm sure that if I do I'll pee myself laughing if they're all like the few I have read...

I've asked you people to keep this clean, but you overly obnoxious people keep stomping on each other's views. I'm going to close this the minute I get home. If, perhaps, you all had been a bit more mature and tolerant of everyone else's views, this topic could have survived, but that obviously isn't the case.

Closed once I get home.
