What is everyone's view on flag burning. In the US, our constitution protects people under the first amendment (freedom of speech, press, assembly, religion...) from being charge with a crime of flag burning.

In my opinion, they should be punished for it. It is an act of violence towards the US and a symbol of terrorism. If we are to stop terrorism abroad, we gotta do it here at home, too. Also, in the Civil War (War fought between north and south USA in 1860's), president Lincholn came under harsh critizism for the way he treated some issues relating to the south's constitutional rights. He used the excuse that: If they aren't part of the US, why should we give them their US rights? This should be taken into consideration with flag burning. If they are rebeling against us, they have no right to use our rights. I say jail 'em.

If they hate America and rebel against the government in flag-burning, chances are they're inept people that reactively blame their own incompetence on the government. Thus, they have nothing useful to contribute to society, and are probably a complete waste of a life. I say execute them.

You're probably right. Harsh, but right. I almost suggested putting them in some sort of reform place: Social rehab or something. What a waste of tax dollars...

oh come on. kill them? that's way overboard, considering this would be a misdeamanor, not a felony. There isn't the slightest possibility of an execution. I would send them to a week long camp, where they spend 10 hours each day learning the Constitution and other stuff.

You ever heard of the sport cricket? Brits prolly have but not americans. Well, its god in India and Pakistan. It's sort of sad , because they will burn models of them if they lose a big match.

How about burning the flag of another country? I would even say yes to that in some cases.

1. Why waste tax dollars on camps, as you can clearly see from our society, the don't work half the time.
2. Other countries, few care. This country, big deal.
3. Yes to which question?
4. Cricket, heard about it. Hw do you play it, though?
5. Capital punishment is standard penalty for treason, I'm asking if you consider flag burning treason.
7. Note: This doesn't concern ceremonial flag retirement (Being a scout, I have participated in many of these)

tax dollars, shmack dollars, do you know what their spending our taxes on? some real crap stuff that doesn't benefit us at all. Anyway, flag burning is not illegal, and is not punished, so how are tax dollars being spent?

P.S. It costs more to execute someone than to put them in life imprisonment.

But if people burn flags right here they could be terrorists, if they go left alone, they could do something terrible later on..

if it WERE illegal, when they burn a flag and knew doing that was against the law, they could be singled out as terrorists

you been reading the news lately? heard about condoleeza rice testifying? They had solid warning of the September 11 attacks, and didn't respond. If that doesn't hint terrorism, would a burning flag give proof?

If a Pakistani burns an American flag, it cannot be treason because treason is an offence against one's own country.

Cricket: The pitch is a biiiig circle, but the batting area is a rectangle, about 5m Wide and 25 Long. At each end of the bating area, there are three stumps sticking out of the ground with bails balanced on the top. 2 batters are in play at any one time. A bowler is at one end and throws it down the B.A. and the batter tries to hi iy, if it hits his leg or knocks off the bails, the batter is out. If the batter hits it but is caught, he is out. Once the batter has hit it, him and the other batter run to the opposite end of the B.A. of them, they should go past each other in the middle. If the ball is thrown back and hits the stump before the batter gets into the crease (roughly 2 feet from the stumps) the batter running towards that stump is out. If the ball hits the boundry of the pitch after bouncing, the batter gets 4 runs, boundry on the full, 6 runs. 1 run is given for a successful run to the other end by each of the batters. Also a religion in India, Pakistan, England, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Australia and New Zealand.
