Perhaps we can add a small (and I mean small) persistent effect bonus upon achieving a title. For instance, earning the title "Master Warrior" will give you melee damage +5, or "Guardian" for received physical damage -5. This would give more substantial incentives to finishing a branch or tree, rather than stopping midway through.

Well, for most of the Tier-3 trees there will be a substantially powerful ability for mastery. Whether it be a focus that makes basically the entire tree more powerful, a unique ability that needs to be limited for balancing, or the "most powerful" in the area that makes a tree unique, there would be something that makes it worth becoming a master.
In the way I was originally thinking though, the titles themselves would somewhat correspond with a class name for roleplaying. I'd steer away from making stats based on too many things, but perhaps something else could be linked to the titles later.
