DarkStorm is an RPG that we (CurvedSpace Productions) have been working on. It was working fine, though we are thinking about redoing almost everything and starting with another engine (we are even considering 3D). It will be a VERY long time before we release anything most likely (experimenting with many things), though we decided to base a forum RPG on this game.

Plot:

The fabric of spacetime has been disrupted by "Dark Energy", an unknown force of pure evil, taking the lives of many innocent people, destroying entire towns, and starting a chain reaction which will destroy the entire universe if nothing is done. Nobody has any clue that time has been altered, and reality is not the same anymore. People and places from all times now exist in the same, distorted world called Earthia. Everyone lives with the constant threat of monsters and anything else which has been sent to the world, and few are willing (or capable) to stand up against these fiends. But there is one who is destined to face Dark Energy, chosen by the Skyrite Blade, and protected from the changing universe. The chances of success are very small, but this hero is the only hope left for the world. Only time will tell what will become of Earthia, but time has been given a new definition and is no longer the same constant by which everything flowed in the past...

You control a character named Ethan, who one night is pulled into a void between dimensions to protect him from the world which is about to be destroyed. When he comes back with the uncharged Skyrite Blade, the entire world is different and even his hometown was sent back many years. He starts his adventure with little knowledge of anything which has happened, and no one has any idea that the world has changed (since the timeline has been altered). For this reason, Ethan is on his own to stop DarkEnergy and the other forces changing the world, and ultimately attempt to change everything back to normal before it is too late.

Characters:

The following are some of the characters which eventually join Ethan throughout his adventure:

Flansburgh: A knight from the Kingdom of Aderon.
Harkin: A pilot and engineer.
Lucca (will have a new name): Mage who was wanted by the Corrorian Empire.

Geomancer (earth wizard)
Summoner
Psychic
- and other possibilities -

Even though much of the plot is here, do not ask for a release date (we don't even know if we're going to finish, everything is experimental right now). But I thought that I'd let everyone know what this is all about anyway.
