JGJTan Icon : (05 July 2018 - 10:07 AM) So this has been a while! It's @jgjtan and @leftyy here having a nostalgia trip. We hope you all have been having a great time so far! Miss you, be back in another 5-10 years. (Or find me on social media -- it's not that hard.)

Phieta Icon : (09 July 2017 - 05:06 AM) Still flying, so to speak. How goes with you?
Rylkan Icon : (09 July 2017 - 02:42 AM) I am even more amazed someone replied to this in less than a few month timescale. Hi! How goes?
Phieta Icon : (08 July 2017 - 09:43 PM) He does log into GW every month or so to retain leadership, so that's something
Phieta Icon : (08 July 2017 - 09:42 PM) There are several of us! Several!
Rylkan Icon : (08 July 2017 - 06:33 PM) I was actually hoping to get in touch with Cspace since its been forever. But it looks like our old leader is lost to the void.
Rylkan Icon : (08 July 2017 - 06:29 PM) In a moment of pure nostalgia, I remembered this site. Seeing any shouts from this year is insane.

So I just replaced my stock CPU fan/heatsink with new setup. Which is Arctic Cooler 64.

My core CPU temp is now idling at a steady 41 Celsius, but my computer is tending to freeze up a tad bit, and is reacting somewhat slowly. My previous fan had melted (Literally melted. Bearing went out and was unfriendly), but slow reaction is solved by closing a few processes. Nothing I can't handle.

So now that I'm idling at 41C, what is a mark temperature I should look out for, stay away from reaching? My HDTune program that measures temperature automatically sets 51C to critical temperature, or 135. Are those still safe temps to run at? I do everything I can to keep it cool, because my last computer literally fried because of a bad CPU fan and lack of monitoring the temperature.

TL;DR
Idling temp is 41C/105F. Is is safe to run things until I hit near 49C/120F?

Somewhat related, I'm considering overclocking everything, for the simple fact to say I did and reap the benefits of it. Does anyone recommend this? I'm content as I am right now, but I'm greedy and I want a bit more. Should I do it? The only problem is, I have never done it before/am completely ignorant to many facets of what it could do.

Opinions and knowledge are appreciated. Thanks. :o
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position.

It depends on the parts you have. My PC stays at around 60c and hits 70c at times.
This isn't great for the life of the thing, but I don't plan on keeping it around for 10 years.

Chances are you're alright.

41c is overall a quite safe reading no matter what your cpu is.

But for a more precise temp you would need to know what CPU you've got.

Rs stats:

Att: 90/90
Str: 90/90
Def: 99/99
Hp: 93/93
Pray: 70/70
Sum: 50/50
Combat: 121 p2p 115 f2p

Being an avid overclocker I suggest you remove the cooler buy some AS5 and apply a small layer upon the CPU. Generally when you are overclocking the danger zone is 60C. CPUS need to try and stay under 55C.
