Since we will be recruiting again soon, I'd like to hear some of your ideas for how we will go about it. I think going around through low-level areas would help to attract new players. The only problem with new players is that often times they don't continue to play on that server. Recruiting those who you meet in a PUG are great candidates. Higher-leveled players who are guildless are usually guildless for a reason, but if you meet one who is searching for a new guild, pick them up. Ask them if they are interested even if they don't seem to be searching.

I'd think that the lower level areas should probably be the first focus. While it never hurts to invite a higher level, he/she would more likely be critical of the guild and its lack of activity. Some new members who we recruit from the newbie areas will leave, but chances are that enough will remain for an upward trend in activity. The average level should also rise over time as they play, when we may shift our focus to other areas for recruiting.

That's just what I think would be the easiest, but everyone doesn't really need to do the same thing. At least in my opinion, recruiting is recruiting, and however it works for someone will be awesome for the guild. thumb.gif

The rising level of new players over time makes sense. When we get a bigger base of medium-leveled players, more players of that level and up are likely to join. When and where do you plan on recruiting, Cspace?

We could theoretically start anytime. It doesn't seem like there's much more interest from others in helping here, so we may as well start soon.

As for where, I normally just go to the place with the most players in the correct level range. A /who command can be used to look around before heading somewhere to recruit (like /who Teldrassil). Something nifty about that is the sorting on the window that comes up... You can see how many are guildless. thumb.gif

I often use the /who command to find others to go questing with. I never thought of using it to recruit. Good idea though! I'll be recruiting primarily in Loch Modan and Dun Morogh for now.

Maybe I'll be able to start recruiting tonight... There are some things I need to do in reality, but I should have some time for recruiting as well. thumb.gif

Getting started is always the hardest part. Once we have some activity, recruiting will also become easier. Since anyone can recruit, hopefully new members will also wish to help their guild in this area. I'll see what I can do to push it, since increasing activity should be everyone's first priority when it comes to the guild.

You could add something to the Guild Message about recruiting. That's a good start bluetongue.gif .
