Very inactive members drive me crazy like an itch I can't scratch . I suppose they might play again someday instead of cluttering up the member list.

On the WoW site's guild database, the rank names aren't shown (just numbers). Those who have been away for at least a couple months are all listed with the rank "On Leave" in-game, which is the lowest rank other than Initiate. The reason for the rank is that when the guild screen is sorted, the significantly inactive members wouldn't clutter the top where those who are active are listed.

I agree that it may seem a little odd, but when others come, those who are On Leave shouldn't be such a large part of the member list.

I did notice the "On Leave" rank. It does make sense, but I hope it doesn't drive new members away. In my experience, new members tend to not stick around when they see a small member list or a lot of inactive members.
