Well some pros and cons.
Pros:
Specialist groups: keep it the way we have it, don't need to be active in order to be in specialist groups, simple.
Guilds: more Roleplaying, more comunication, more structure, leaders always active, weeds out useless people, knowledge comes over skill, leader must be approved by others, helps to build knowledge and skill.
Cons:
Specialist groups: too simple, no structure, jobs have almost no point, Leaders rarely on. no roleplaying
Guilds:too complex, required to be active, chances of bribes to become leader, more effort for jobs.

I understand it fine... besides, it looks to be one of those things that is easy to understand once you get used to it after maybe 15 minutes.

required to be active |
May I ask who would want to be in a clan just to say they are? What's the point if you don't do anything?

chances of bribes to become leader |
I doubt this would happen. If it did, we could keep making votes to oust the leader until he/ she runs out of money

Those who give by the inch and take by the yard beserve to be kicked by the foot.
Guilds all the way!
Those who will remember, will speak fondly of the warm morning breeze.

yeah, Ilove this idea.
I love role playing and I' dlike to be a better smith. I also want to serve the clan, but I can't do this verry well when I don't know what is needed. sure I could go on the market boards but it feels better when your working for your clan/guild then when your just working for another player.
I think that since this is a clan thing and any body can go and sell the stuff they make that this should be more trust/friend based. For instance. Instead of the grandmaster agreeing on prices (see other topic) the miners just give the ores to the smiths and the majority of the armour goes to seed members for free. The extra can be sold and I some of the extra money can go to the people who did the work. Mabee this would be hard to do because people are basicly greedy but... at the very least the miners shouldn't sell their ores for the standard price. If I wanted ores at that price I could get them any where.
another thing that could be set up is a whole aprenticship system, I don't know how doable this is but mabee... (I'm just thinking out laud)
over all, I think that the specialist groups should be more active.

to phieta: some peopel don't like to have to be active, or are to busy tto be active. but its generally a good thing. alsoits a little complex system. and again soem people dont have time. aparently we have to negative people. if you vote, post the reason!
ohtaren: i actually think i wa s going to write that you could just give the ore, but it is easier to keep track (way easier, statistics would really help in case someone begins selling to outide vendors) if it is done throught he grandmasters.
Heres me wanting to be in the Smithing or magic... havent decided, i like magic a lot, but smithings a helpful guild... or crafting... hmm....

I have to say... i see it like this-
To put it simply, does virtually nothing in SeeD (No offence to anyone), and does not play any part.
An amazingly great, and amazing idea which will revolutionize the way SeeD works.
Pros of Specialist: Keeps it simple. Don't need to change or adjust.
Cons: THERE IS NO POINT OF IT!!!!
Pros of Guilds: Soooo much more meaning to it, helps others as well as yourself, helps many with skills, more interaction, and MORE!!!!
Cons: May cause confusion, problems, etc. You need to be much more active, some people may dislike the idea and go against SeeD.
I for one like the idea of guilds, but it WILL cause a revolution for SeeD (most likely anyway) The problem is, it could cause mass confusion, and many problems in the clan. Or, it could work out just fine, and SeeD would be like 3 times better.

ok, I don't know about likes but I've been paying pretty close attention to this line of posts. there have been several separte threads on this subject.
there is an original post in the blood demons forum under garden discussion. This was X zolons first post about this I believe. then soon after I joined I posted something similar because I hadn't ever read any of the stuff on this. That post isn't too important. next there was this post and one in announcements called the revolution begins. recently darness 22 posted a poll in general discussion. sorry if I left any out. this should give you the key info on this subject.

I voted for guild because it seems to be better organized. I've been a member of SeeD for a day now, and I can't find anything about where to go to meet with group, or what they do.(besides the very general answer of we fish or we cook) Maybe guilds would actually accomplish something.
